Clarkson isn't so much of a pest anymore. I'm hoping he'd be a second line guy that plays on the edge, pissing opposing players and teams off.

On a side note, I see Matteau's on pace for 68 goals and 136 points right now, how has he been playing?

Matteau always plays on the edge, very physical player, will never miss a chance to complete his checks.

He has shown decent hands and shooting ability throughout pre-season and both games this weekend.

Things are looking good for him.

He seems like one of those players that if he doesn't reach his offensive potential, he will still be an NHL player, kind of like Raffi Torres.

The hope is that he becomes a player like Lucic, but the realistic expectation is that he turns into someone like Steve Ott.

Ott has a good skating stride though and is smaller than Matteau. He's a pure pest. I think Matteau is bigger and plays more like a power forward, he has more offensive skills/softer hands than Ott in my opinion.

Matteau is a very good project, and the fact that he will play under such quality coaches and in a great environment will only help his development.

Until January, only Euros, 20 year olds and draft picks can be traded.

Jakub Culek....kinda strange to use up an OA and Euro. Culek is a fine player but surely the Armada could come up with something better...

I certainly hope not. That would be a mistake in my opinion.

As per @steveturcotte a credible rumour would see Jakub Culek heading to the Armada.

The armada have 2 euros...

Jelapovs and Kolesnikovs...

And if you're Blainville you want to maximize those 5 spots.

So Jevpalovs and Lebel out for Culek?

If true, wow... Why?

Well from what I gather and statistically Jelapovs hasn't shown much at this level but still a very strange move. Especially BLB because their definately among contenders and very seldom do you see contenders use a 20 year old Euro as it should be 2 impact players, not 1.

He had said that in regards to having 4 20 year olds , which isn't a problem/situation anymore because Patrick Downe is reporting to Truro(Jr.A) instead of Shawinigan. It's still likely they sell as much as possible so I wouldn't rule Shawinigan out but the "something in works" is probably something totally different.

Uh? Kolesnikovs isn't with the team anymore.

Jevpalovs did well in pre-season but suffered a concussion. He has been very slow to produce so far since the start of the real season. But he has all the tools to be a player in this league.

I certainly hope we did not trade Lebel + Jevpalovs for Culek...

I don't think Bouchard will act too quick and I don't think he will go after a european overrager, it just doesn't make sense. Withtout Lebel we still have a very good and deep offense.

Guys like Martel, Hodhod, Sanche and Hinds will be able to get more ice time and further developp. By Christmas, I expect Bouchard to pick up an all-star forward in the Huberdeau/Danault mold and perhaps a veteran forward and defenseman to add to our depth for our hopefully lenghty playoff run.
