Hey, if it gets a run at the cup who cares . Go hard after Thomas and make sure he will play at least one more year.

Snake bitten is what I'm chalking it up to. He missed more tap ins than I can remember. I don't think he was as bad as his numbers indicate. I hope he's here long term.

Kuli was still a solid player even only scoring 7 goals. They'll settle on a 1 or 2 year deal at a dollar figure mid way between the extremes and see how he rebounds.

The Toronto Sun doesn't have a clue about anything, let alone what is going on with Kulemin's new deal. Case in point,

Kulemin doesn't have any leverage to ask for a deal with term, nor for any value above 3M per season. Based on his play last season his current 2.5 M salary cap is an overpayment, however makes sense to keep him based on potential alone.

he scored 30 goals the year before and was/is one of our hardest working 2 way forwards.

your right. he should beg for the minimum! he's lucky he's not out on the street!

I still think the battle will be about term rather than money. Burke will want to lock in the lowest possible deal for 4 years.

Kulemin will want a 1 year deal, basically a mulligan on last season.

I think this is what will happen. Burke will look for a cheap annual average deal. I would like to keep him, I think he is highly valuable. Can slide up and down the lineup. If he becomes a solid 20-25 goal scorer and plays great D he will be a fan favourite for years to come.

How long does he have to accept or reject the QO? I seem to recall he can accept it at any point after its been offered as long as he doesn't sign a new contract. In my mind, I bet he takes it. 2.2M for a year after the year he had this season is an excellent deal for him.

It's going to be testy because hsi agent said "We'll see what happens"?

Come one. Kulemin's agent knows his past season hurts his client and almost washes away his 30 goal season. He's not exactly coming from a good strong position. THat is all

Beau Bennett rather or even Tangradi who might need a change of scene.
