On the current team...

Worst: Miller. And that's based solely on his frequent attitude with the media. It's wonderful.

If I had to deal with the media in this town, I'd probably be just as grumpy.

Best? I'm going to go with Kaleta.

On ice: Rarely takes a dumb penalty, willing to take a pounding to get a PP for his team. Always willing to play the role asked of him.
Off ice: Always says the right things, always talks about helping the team, willing to change his game as asked.

Best - Pominville. He's a cheerleader and toes the company line.
Worst - Miller. Fairly obvious, just listen to some of his interviews.

Best: Ennis, Never seems to be depressed. Might sound it(a little monotone), but not the way he carries himself.

Miller: Seems to me he doesn't like dealing with the media often, or any PR. I think hes a guy that just wants to be left alone. He doesn't present himself off the ice like hes a leader, but all that matters is on the ice, which, outside watching his body language, is kind of hard to gauge how he is in the lockerroom.

I've never been concerned with the goaltender's attitude / personality being a little off. So long as he's confident, doesn't bring the team down, and stops the puck. He can sit in the corner of the room and be as grumpy as he wants. Hasek was quirky and moody. . . I don't think Peca, Warrener and McKee cared much about his moods or weirdness.

It's just as valid to state you think it's unknowable.

IMO the very idea that any of us thinks we can accurately rank the attitudes of players is absurd. There is so much that goes in behind the scenes we know absolutely nothing about that would directly impact the answer.

While there are a few ways to really consider what "attitude" is, I'll take the most general sense and say:

Best: Ennis and it's pretty easy. No one seems more positive, no one seems to be truly enjoying himself any more than Tyler Ennis.

Worst: Roy, I suppose. It may not be completely fair, but he seems fairly wrapped up in himself in his interviews and sometimes his on-ice body language. Another option would be Vanek, by which I mean his attitude of getting on himself when he slumps, etc is probably not ideal. I wouldn't describe that as a "bad" attitude but I think if he had a bit of a different one he'd be a more consistent, elite-level player.

Goes both ways, really. We can formulate opinions based on what we see, which is pretty much what my answer was based off of. Are those opinions right? Who knows, lots of people act differently in public than they do in private or among friends/colleagues. Pominville could be a huge tool and a jerk in the locker room and Miller could be Mother Teresa.

In Miller's case that would be slammed in the head.

This. Goalies are all weirdos in some way. Miller strikes me as the kind of guy that'd rather not deal with all the media circus stuff and would rather just focus on playing his game.

I think Vanek is getting more hate than is really warranted too. He has some holes in his game still, sure, but he's put a noticeable effort into being a better passer, puck handler and two-way player as need has dictated over the course of the last few seasons with injuries to other players; he never volunteers injuries as an excuse for sub-par performance, even when his teammates admit that they're affecting him; he probably takes the second biggest beating on the ice game-in and game-out after Kaleta to get to the net and stay there. He's not a lazy player, he doesn't try to take shortcuts, he works hard..It just doesn't always yield 40+ goal results. His biggest pitfall, imo, is just how hard he is on himself when he's starts slumping, which probably isn't helped by how hard Ruff rides him.

How does miller have a bad attitude? His attitude clearly shows that he really cares about this team.
Best: Miller, Ennis, Pommers

Worst: Roy and Leino

For best i'd go with Kaleta and Pominville

For worst i'd say Miller. But as noted, he has reasons to be grumpy being around our town and goalies are usually more outspoken then skaters anyways.

As for Mikhail Grigorenko, i love his attitude so far. He seems to be all about the Buffalo Sabres. Maybe he's got a hell of an agent who teaches him to tell the right things, but all he does is say how proud he is to be a Sabre, how beautiful our logo is, and how he cant wait to prove them right. He keeps saying "i dont care about anyone else, i only care about the Sabres"... I just love the way he speaks. Can't wait for sabres.com to have more interviews with him!

****ing Matty Ellis. So little talent, but works his ass off every shift. If work ethic translates to attitude then I agree he has the best attitude.
