How do Sweden and USA have such huge prelim rosters(As opposed to Finland)? There's quite a few guys I'd like team FIN to look at who are not on the prelim roster (and there are some weird picks like Heikki Liedes and Matti Lamberg)

Sweden and USA have camps before the tournament, I guess Finland has not. Sweden will trim it down to 22 players for the tournament, but uses a bigger camp roster for intrasquad games and a couple of games against Czech Republic.

Finland will go with those players as long as everyone's available. I used the word "preliminary" at the Finnish board because it'll be 6 weeks before the tournament starts and injuries are a possibility before that.

I assume for a price? I don't think they've done free broadcast for ages?

I'd imagine some of the Finnish players are either completing military obligations or involved with their respective club's summer program. Finland generally uses these camps to find out about some players who haven't been seen as much - and also experiments a lot with their lineup during the Mestis exhibition games. I'd imagine injury may also be a factor.

SM-liiga teams began/restarted their on-ice training last week so scouting for players would be a bit hard. The junior teams are usually picked by "old merits" at this stage. Hockey federation isn't holding any camps during the summer.

I've watched the last two years, if nothing is new it's pretty poor. Hoping it's a bit better nowadays.

Just finished watching FIN - USA blue and it's the same as always. Quite poor, but at least there's commentary, which helps.

What was the final score? At jatkoaika there's only the scorers after two periods.

0-1 Armia (Leino)
3-2 Määttä
3-3 Ikonen (Määttä, Aaltonen)

Torjunnat:
Ullberg 7 + 7
Gibson 8 + 3
Gillies 0 + 4

Froberg and Gortz look good together, had a good penalty kill aswell. Lundstrom solid in net, some rebounds. Lundberg and Sundqvist look sluggish. The best guys like Klefbom, Zibanejad and Forsberg are leading the pack as expected.

Thanks for the updates. Too bad Sundqvist looks bad. I had small hopes he could make the WJC team. But still would be nice to get to see him since hes drafted by the pens and its always nice to see the prospects of your team get some spotlight
