Shane O'Brien would be a solid add if Burke wants some veteran presence on the back end. That is to say, if some space is created on the blueline sometime this summer.

Should be cheap at 1.5-1.75. Plays tough, decent at moving the puck and decent in his own end. Doubt there's room for him though.

Jordin Tootoo
What do you plan to do with Steckel?

I would rather have Steckel on the 4th line as our center then Konopka. Konopka is more of a depth guy while Steckel has the ability to be more then that. I just think Steckel is a better overall player. I do really like Konopka though, he is tough and can fight, but Steckel is the better player and gives us a better chance to win games.

I would rather us bring in Konopka as a depth guy, someone to replace say Zigomanis, so when a guy like Steckel or Bozak goes down, we can call up Konopka and he can add some toughness to the lineup. Also I feel overall Konopka would be an upgrade over Zigomanis.

Resign Finger at all costs.

All jokes aside, we should pursue Travis Moen for the 3rd line, Ryan Suter for the top pairing and Justin Schultz just because. Moen would look great on a 3rd line with Kulemin/Frattin and somebody like Colborne/Kadri or Bozak down the middle.

Suter would do well with Phaneuf and he would provide some good help on defense for that pairing.

Justin Schultz would be more for the future although he could still fit on one of the bottom 2 pairs.

I'd love Doan, but he'd either go back to the Coyotes or ask for too much,
other then that:
Tootoo, Parise, Moen and Gaustad. although It's unlikely we'll get any of them.
Maybe Al Montoya or Dan Ellis, not my idea of top goaltending, but I can't help but feel that Reimer&Scrivens are actually going to be able to hold their own next season, and we'll need someone to help carry the load. I think it would be cool to have someone like Roloson to mentor them, but he is just past his prime to be a legitimate goalie on the team.

Nothing stopping BB from shipping Lom/Con to the AHL, chill out.

Gaustad would be perfect for where and what this team needs in the bottoms 6.

One of the top face off Cs in the league, has size and grit.

Bryan Allen will be a target.

I'd say Burke would love to bring in players like Gaustad, Prust and perhaps Moen but considering they will be massively overpaid due to the UFA pool being very weak, I don't think we will sign many of them, if any.

Before even thinking of signing a player or two, Burke has to trim the roster. There's way too many forwards.

Perhaps?
No. Sorry dude.

1) Jokinen will never be a Leaf.
2) Doan is a guy you trade for at the deadline, not overpay for at free agency.
3) Al Montoya shouldn't even be discussed.
4) Dustin Penner, only if he is an absolute joke of a bargain. The guy had 7 goals last year in 65 games. Yes, 7.
4) Paul Gaustad is basically David Steckel, except will cost 2 to 3 times the price.
5) Jochen Hecht is 35 and would play on our third line instead of a guy like Kadri or Frattin. Absolutely not.

You don't know a damn thing about Gaustad if you think he is basically Steckle.

Center:
1. Jason Arnott
2. Olli Jokinen
3. Paul Gaustad

Left Wing:
Zach Parise
Dustin Penner
Brandon Prust
Travis Moen

Right Wing:
1. Shane Doan
2. David Moss

Right Defense:
1. Ryan Suter
2. Justin Schultz

In all honesty, if we got one of those centers signed for two years & Penner, Prust or Moen, I would be happy.

Whats Moss's relationship with Kessel like? Blood thicker then $?

I am hoping for Schultz, and gaustad. would be perfect 3rd line center. he loves the front of the net. any major free agents i dont think we can afford and probably wouldnt sign here anyways.

Bad UFAs this year. I get the feeling some people are listing names just for the sake of listing names. We need to move middling NHL players, not add them at a high pricetag.

Try for Schultz and if that fails, sit on your hands.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Gaustad as a 3rd line C. Size, grit and has been one of the top 3 face off Cs for awhile now.

3d liners are middling players, get used to it.

As for moving players, it's called the AHL. Finger is off the books, no reason or excuse not to ship down a member or 2 of the LACK.

My new target would be 24-year-old Peter Mueller who was not qualified by the Avalanche and will be a UFA.

Low risk, high reward IMO.

Was just about to post this. You've still got that rookie quick strike pedigree JE.

Another similar player who's seen his value drop but still has potential is Wolski who will also be heading to FA.

Didnt even know Mueller was a UFA. I wouldn't be opposed to him either.

I think he was an Rfa who wasn't qualified. Are the concussion issues behind him??

Not certain. I'm sure Colorado could have gotten him for peanuts so the fact that he's heading to FA makes me think he's a risky play despite what he'll be paid. High-risk, medium reward.

We actually dont have many spots for players, theres still lombardi and i really want room for kadri, over 100 games in ahl and over 90pts, what else he need to prove he needs a spot so we see wtf he really is...we just signed komarov too

lupul bozak kessel
jvr grab kule
mac con frattin
arm steckel brown
lombo
kadri
koma

gun dion
gardiner kom
liles franson

reimer
scrivens

we gotta make so many moves to make room for people, way too much dead weight with connolly, lombardi, armstrong...mac has to go to make room for kadri or a bigger body...still missing that 1C so we can drop bozak down to 3rd line...hate goin into next season with two unproven youngsters in the most important position in hockey, really need that at least one PROVEN goalie in net
