Just picked up my new phone yesterday and the video quality is exceptional. Haven't tried it indoors yet but will grab a few videos and see how they come out.

Took a few test videos at Dwyer Arena

Rink one had the rink lights off so I was impressed with the results

Any word on camp invites? Other teams have been busy making theirs.

I usually make one day, will try to make more this year.

And I'll bring my camera with me and shoot some video.

Well, most of those camps are ongoing or starting within a week, so we might have to wait another week for our list or it could be tomorrow's announcement.

Also, if teams are starting theirs now, it is possible for kids to go to more than one. I'm wondering if Steven Beyers is back since they have invited some guys more than one year. Payerl was a bit of a dud two years ago at camp and the Pens signed him as he finally came on this past year -- it's always interesting to see where some of these guys land.

First development camp invite via Baker's twitter:

#Sabres d-camp invites should start trickling in. Looks like the first is 5'9" Cornell G Andy Iles, a grad of US NTDP program.

Iles fits a few of their usual invitee trends -- upstater, relatively nearby collegiate player and player with some tie to the hockey dept (Rolston). Given the successes of some of their participants between the pipes in the last few years (Leggio, Enroth, Knapp, Lieuwen, Houser), a goalie might be stoked to come in and work with Corsi.

He's getting invited just so Enroth feels bigger.

Interesting invite, and I certainly see the logic. He can be solid (and became more so as the season rolled on)... but he can be all over the place in terms of positioning as well. Working with Corsi definitely won't hurt his game. Also, as a Cornell fan, Sabres (Iles) vs. Leafs (Scrivens) would make my head explode. I know it's not going to happen, but just the slightest possibility of it makes me chuckle.

I just want this to be here already. I am so excited to see how Grigs and Girgs stack up against the the other prospects we have now in what will be their first test. I am also particularily excited to see how Armia has progressed.

We have taken the steps and taken real risks in the draft to improve our prospect pool and I am so extremely intested to see how it turns out. I am currently thinking it was the right decision, or at least one that needed to be made.

Finally being a resident of the west side of Michigan I will try to make it out for the Traverse City tournament. I can't wait for it.

It may seem silly, but Traverse is like the main reason why I want the CBA done by August

More from Bakes ... Iles en route; Laker on radar?
Quote:
Cornell netminder Andy Iles, 20, enters camp following a busy sophomore season that saw him start (and complete) all 35 games for the Big Red, finishing the year 19-9-7 with a 2.12 goals against average, .919 save percentage. and six shutouts. The 5'9, 180-pounder arrives as a highly decorated amateur, having scored gold (2009 U18) and bronze (2011 U20) medals internationally, while earning NAHL Rookie of the Year and 2010-11 ECAC All-Rookie Team honors along the way. A product of the Syracuse Stars and U.S. National Team Development Program, Iles is very quick, very athletic, and technically sharp. It's fun watching sub-six foot goalies compete and succeed. Iles does just that.

***

Another name rumored to be on his way for camp is offensive-minded defender Nick Jones of Atlantic Hockey's Mercyhurst College. Clocking in at a solid 6'2, 205 pounds, the Cranberry Township, PA native was the Lakers' top D-man as a sophomore in 2011-12, scoring 10 goals and 24 points, including 6+8 on the PP, while appearing in all 40 games. Scouts like his ability to leave his post and jump into the slot, and trait he displayed when notching a goal, an assist, and a season-high seven shots on goal in a late February win over Canisius. The big shooting righty, who earned 3rd Team All-Conference last season, will serve as one of the team's tri-captains in 2012-13.

Hopefully they have some later sessions this year. I'll make it out there for at least 1 session though.

Something like 2010 would be nice - three later afternoon sessions - 3:30-4:00 starts -
two late morning sessions - 10:30-11:15 starts. Maybe two each of those and perhaps
a early evening one - 6:30 start? - this time around.

I'll try to make it to one as well - a late afternoon/every evening one would be ideal for
me - unless a late morning session falls on my day off for that week - which would either
be Tuesday or Wednesday.

This is my first post, although I read this site daily. I heard through the grapevine at the local rink that Mark Guggenberger is attending Sabres Development Camp!? I did some research on him and he seems to have quite the resume. Could be interesting.
