so the only trade i'd accept would be for a 2nd line C - period
MPS would help us with a sized Winger for the Bottom 6. Not the worst option going forward.

If we trade Hjammer, it's about the Cap Space and Roster Spot

Who are our "lazy" high paid stars ? and what was the point of the post besides taking a shot at Kane which he does any chance he gets ?

It is not the worst option but it is a pretty bad one, especially with the glut of offensive depth we have coming up through our system.

Hammer is only traded for cap space if Suter is brought in. Any other reason for trading him is more than likely not a good one.

Trading out only 2nd pairing d for a 3rd line winger is an awful decision.

Just curious guys, do the Hawks and Habs make for trading partners now that Bergevin is in Montreal as GM?

Unless Plekanec is available, I don't see a trade coming soon between these two.

The Habs aren't in much of a position to fix the holes on the Hawks roster.

Might be more of a fix at the trade deadline...where the two GM's try to help each other going into the playoffs...as for Pleks, he will not be avaiable until Galyenchuk makes the show...

Yeah right. Let's not hold our collective breaths for Stan to do something at any kind of deadline.

In season, the Hawks have made at least one trade all 3 years under Bowman (Leddy, Campoli, Morrison, john scott for a pick, and oduya). 3 of those 4 trades helped the Hawks a lot

I'm definitely a lot less in love with Bowman than I was this time last year but you guys need to lighten up. A lot of posts I read are like Bobby's where they are factually inaccurate and baseless.

I really can't see Hammer being traded for winger prospects. Bowman drafted most of these guys so I'm pretty sure he knows we have an extreme amount of winger depth in our prospect pool.

Now that we lost out on Luongo, it's a very, very safe bet that the return for Hammer will be a center.

There's an outside chance of trading him for a return of high picks in next year's draft if we get really desperate to dump his contract (read: we land one of Suter/Parise)

If Hammer even gets traded at all.

The answer to your 1st question is in your second question.

Shane Doan is going to test the free agent market. He'd be awesome on the Hawks.

i don't really get where you're going with this. you should know by now kane can't hit, defend well, etc. he's basically a puss, but with amazing offensive ability. yeah gagner had 8 points and "embarrassed" the hawks, but it was one game. the most points gagner has ever had in a season is 49. kane has topped out at 88. last year gagner had 47 and kane had 66, which was a bad year for him.

yeah edmonton blows so gagner's stats may be affected by this, but kane is an elite player; gagner is not, although he's still a great player. and gagner doesn't hit or defend that well either. i agree that for what kane is making, he should be producing more. sometimes it's like he doesn't give a ****, but the dude is one of the best playmakers/danglers in the league.

Yes please. Didn't he play on the same line as Toews during the Olympics?

I believe the line in the Olympics was Richards - Toews - Nash.

I think Toews and Doan have played together at the World Champioship in the past. I would love to see Doan sign with the Hawks.

I'm for it, but not at too much. If he wants to play here, you do it at a discount. If we are bidding, no thanks.

If Doaner is on a 1-2 year contract, give him what he wants to play here.

A line of Doan-Kane-Hossa would incredibly dynamic!

That's of course, considering I believe Kane is by far the best 2nd C option available, and his best play last year was at C.

I don't like Doan that much and would prefer other options. Would like him if he comes

Toews was on many lines at the Olympics, as Babcock moved him around in an attempt to get many other players going, example Nash.
