Whoever loses out on the big FA/trade names (Parise, Ryan, Nash) would probably throw a bunch of money at Mueller even if he is a big risk. Assuming COL doesn't bring him back he might be a guy who's better off waiting a couple days after the 1st for the smoke to clear, he can probably make a lot more that way.
I'd go 1 year only for 2 million. Something similar to what we gave Frolov a couple years ago. If a team desperate for offense wants to give this guy a multi year deal, be my guest.
Mueller would be a good fit on NYR. He's got a great right hand shot that will help our pp. He could be a nice fit playing with Kreider and Stepan too.

I'm sure others know more, but won't it have to be for more money then the 2 million a year he made from his previous contract?
I can see Calgary throwing 2 years @ 3.5M per season at him. May not be the greatest idea, but he fits what we are looking for (minus the injury history).

In Colorado he never playe center. But given his lack of foot speed, poor endurance( because he missed 1.5 years), and his average defensive play I would imagine he isn't that great. I thought he also played wing in PNX so I don't think he would be a very effective at center anymore.

If he does go to UFA i could see some team really overpaying him, like the way florida did with flash last year, but i do think he will produce at a solid rate as lone as he is playing in the top 6 with a talented center
