NJ or Chicago....

NJ--Lou is famous for keeping things under HIS control ...Nothing "gets out" unless he wants it to...

CHI--- the political in-fighting going on in this bureaucracy may leak out BUT with differing "spins" --on the other hand, when they do some baffling shuffles to the pipeline you NEVER GET ANY EXPLANATION --just 2 examples:

1. When Nathan Davis mysteriously quit hockey and their farm team -there was never an annoubcement or explanation released..

2. When they did not sign 2nd rounder LUDVIG RENSFELDT -again no explanation given.

So,VERY SECRETIVE until rumours spill out from other sources and the fire needs to be put out by P/R. sinmeisters....eg. The Patrick Kane "incidents" ...thus top brass reaaly not pleased but lets get Cap'n Serious to spin our "support" for the still "learning" Kane ...trouble is Kane is not 18 anymore nor even 21--but now SHOULD BE a more mature 23 who turns 24 in NOV ---he's long past the kiddie learning stage...BUT Hawks brass willnot openely say it is almost time for an "INTERVENTION" session even though privately I'm sure they have discussed all kinds of "help" solutions to this "problem"...
The bigger problem though is that whatever Kane loves most it appears not to be playing hockey for multi-millions---simply see the regression in production last season notably hiss long period of disinterest from mid-NOV. toabout the beginning of March ...yet the secretive Hawks said little about any problems he might be having..was their drinking even during the season? IF so--we never heard a peep about a prblem-but on the ice something was wrong for a long time for about 45-50 games in the middle of the season...FANS could tellsomething was "off" with Kane but Management never let out a statement that anything was wrong.. Very Secretive indeed. Maybe there was no in season drinking problem-but if not, what was the cause of his disinterested play for so long? Perhaps his wrist surgery from last summer still affected him? IF that was the readon, the Hawks Management said not a word about any lingering problem or effects--they just left it to fans themselves to SPECULATE...whatever the Truth ,they kept it a SECRET...

I have no idea how old his kids are, but I think most kids would be pretty curious about why their dad has a massive scar across his face and can't think of too many things that would be so bad that he couldn't tell them. Then I've read there a rumors it was from a cat scratch, but he denies that, and I can't imagine why he couldn't tell that to his kids. Either way, his refusal to say anything about it seems kind of odd.

Also I remember the Caps beat writers saying during the 2011 playoffs that there was a 2x4 sitting on the middle of the floor in the Lightning locker room that no one was allowed to touch and they refused to say anything about it other than the fact that Boucher had used it to "illustrate a point".
I never heard about that

Since Yzerman took over, the Lightning have become much more professional/secretive. Boucher's scar is from an injury he sustained while fighting James Bond.

The secretest organizations are the two new ones gearing up to play this coming season. This will solve all re-alignment problems as there will now be 32 teams in the league so four 8-team divisions/conferences can be made. The fly in the ointment: they're so secret nobody knows where these two organizations are going to exist.

i think that if the nhlpa votes down the realignment again there is a huge chance of an expansion especially if the economy gets better

The Avs under Pierre Lacroix were brutally secret. Like the day they randomly signed Kayria and Selanne in the same day and no one saw it coming. And try getting any info about injuries, contract updates, roster moves. Forget about it.....

I think Nashville could learn from the secrecy of some organization, they still demand a return for Radulov by giving him his QO, but they bash him publicly.

The Jets (aside from Claude Noel) are one of the most secretive organizations in the league.

I guess it becomes a habit when you negotiate with the NHL for a team for 5 years and have to keep it off the media's radar.

Nothing has changed. actually,I think less actually gets out now because the avs aren't in the spot light.

99% of these posts are people choosing their team.

I can assure you, as one who's not a fan of them, it is the Colorado Avalanche. There is just something very strange about them, even compared to the Minnesota Wild. I think last year, maybe even this year, the Avalanche website had pretty much no draft coverage, or predraft coverage. It's like they weren't even going to acknowledge. The people who even coverage the team rarely get access to the team executives and when they do, there's not much they say. Avalanche GMs are also pretty reclusive, only really making noise when they do a trade.

The most secret organization in the NHL is that group of men that wear suits and sit in the penalty and timekeepers boxes. What are their official job positions (aside from the timekeeper), and how does one get that job?

No one knows...

The Portland Wolves, they are so secret that most hockey fans don't even know they are a NHL team.

Jeez, ok well not 99%, I was being hyperbolic. You figure out the percentage then if it's that important to you. I was just making a point.

To be honest, it's gotten to the point as an Avs fan, that if it's rumored, I can bank on it not happening.

New Jersey Devils by far.

Lou Lamoriello is basically a cult leader.
