Hypothetically speaking any trade for Tavares starts with Myers

i dont give a rats ass who you start with.....tavares will not be traded untill he hits unrestricted free agency and refuses too re-sign with long island.

i cant think of five players from any team that i would take for him.

Because John Tavares is a superstar and will be for the next 10+ years. And when I mean superstar, I mean at very least top 10 player year in and year out. He's in the tier right behind Crosby and Malkin.

And if the Canucks could get Tavares for Edler, Kesler, Schneider, Gaunce, 1st round pick I'd be ectsatic. He is criminally underrated around HF.

Done

"Vanek
Ennis
Myers
Grigorenko

for

Tavares

doesn't even come close, eh?"

Done!!

Since we're being unrealistic here (yes its make believe HFboards), why not.

Tavares is going to be an elite #1 Centre, but even Wayne Gretzky got traded don't forget and Tavares isn't Gretzky or Crosby mind you. That package above is pretty awesome. Myers is a modern day Chris Pronger who isn't as mean, Ennis is slick and skillful, Vanek has lots of goal scoring prowess and Grigorenko is like any top 10 draft pick, he has lots of potential that you would hope pans out.

Dude what did you expect? You are proposing a trade for the franchise player of a team that's been sitting in the basement for the last 2 decades. I don't care what imaginary scenario you want to create, the Isles see Tavares as their franchise player and surely a player they envision retiring to the rafters someday if all goes to plan.

Of course Isles fans are going to shoot this, or any offer you pull out of your ass down. It doesn't matter what name you throw in, Isles fans will turn it down.

I imagine Tavares being top-5 untouchable players in the league. I can't see NYI trading him for anything save for crosby/Malkin.

Try at least two 1st round picks + a prospect.

I can name 5 players, one of which that you might take for him: Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, Ovechkin, or Giroux.

I'll take Tavares over Ovie and I'd have to think about with Giroux

I guess that is why the Islanders are so terrible.

Myers, Ennis, Hodgson, Grigorenko and McNabb for Taveres and Garth hangs up???

When was the last time you guys made the playoffs? Just saying....

lol someone's defensive.

Your team has made the 1st round a grand total of twice since the Islanders last made the playoffs. Congrats.

Preeeeeeeetty sure OP was drunk or something last night....made a thread in the sabres forum saying that Buffalo would be trading future first round picks for the tights of both Suter and Parise, sign them both, and then get ryan for something like Stafford Sekera and a pick......using Eklund as a sourse.....FSE normally posts things that are a bit less........stupid....

Honestly don't say the sabres don't have pieces that could get the islanders to trade him. More likely is that the sabres won't give up what it would take to get him, which is closer to the truth.

That still doesn't make the Canucks team better. Obviously Tavares is an incredibly valuable player, and if I was an Islander fan I'd get a chub saying yes to the trade you offered. As a Flyers fan, if the Flyers were to trade Giroux, Hartnell, Coburn and a 1st I'd run Homer out of town. As good as Tavares is (better than every player in the deal), it still makes the team worse.

are you kidding me? you think that offer is even close enough in value for a 21 yr old stud #1 center? enroth? GTFO. starts with vanek and myers and add more. JT is as getable in a trade as crosby...nobody will pay that much

NYI receives

Vanek : top goalscoring W, 8th most goals since lockout
Roy : low-end 1C
BOTH McNabb and Adam OR BOTH Armia and Pysyk : High-end cheap young talent. McNabb/Adam are NHL ready, Armia and Pysyk need a year.
Enroth : capable young backup already, above average starter potential
2013 1st : deep draft, probably 17-22 pick.

BUF receives

Tavares : True high-end 1C
Nabokov OR Rights to Montoya and PAP and 3rd : replacement for Enroth and value.
Tavares has gotten props since day 1 for his character and maturity.

I can't see him becoming an egomaniac and refusing to play in Brooklyn.

The train ride too long? The traffic between Nassau County and Brooklyn too congested?

Ah,but the NYI can't wait for those future draft picks

21 yr old Tavares, is already playing like a beast in the NHL.

Vanek makes $7m+ per season and is a ufa, in 2 more seasons.
Tavares will make $4m next season and is a ufa, in 6 more seasons.
Isles with their budget woes, would not touch Vanek. So you can take him out of the proposal.

Isles feel they have their blueline studs in Hamonic+Reinhart,so while landing Myers would be great, the Isles keep Tavares and see what Reinhart/Donovan/De Haan bring to the table.

Isles have a GLUT of promising, unproven prospects.Trading 21 yr old Tavares for a few more, would hold little appeal.

I live in Nassua county 10 min from the Nassau colliseum and it takes me about 15 to 20 min to get to Brooklyn....

BROOKLYN is on Long Island....

Buffalo would have to offer: Myers + Roy + Armia + 1st for Tavares. And they Isles would probably still say no since Tavares is their franchise player. It would cost ALOT.

Ok...

3 drafts, and a conditional draft based on advancing past the first round
