What makes sense is they want to make Tavares the captain.

They need to add ~6 contracts to their roser, and have 9 million to hit the floor.
...and if they trade Streit they will have to add 7 contracts and approximately 13 million.

I saw a few posts on the ANA board thinking the team knew this when they traded him. It seemed like speculation on their part, however.

Streit is not going to get Smid.

Has anyone heard anything from 1260 about who EDM might be going after in trade for a dman.

They are not trading Smid for Streit.

Has anyone heard from 1260 about possible dman in a trade from the Eastern Conference.

Yeah, one of my friends who is a Ducks fan told me back in May that he thought Visnovsky was going to retire. Some people think that Visnovsky lost the will to play after the death of his friend Demitra.

Islanders are impossible to figure out. I'd think Streit would cost a good prospect or decent prospect + roster player.

But since it's the Islanders they may take Belanger.

LOL, so true.

Tambo: Garth, we want Streit reunited with Krueger. What you looking for? I'll offer you Lander and Anaheim's 2nd.
Garth: Accep....
**Large noises in background**
Garth: Excuse me Tambo, it's Wang. Hold on a sec
**2 minutes pass by **
Garth: Okay Tambo, so Belanger and Potter for Streit and Tavares. Where do we sign?

If NYI's are concerned about hitting the cap floor this year, we could send Khabby's expiring contract back.

Very very under-rated.
One of your poster's came and asked on the NYI board about Streit. He posted Stauffer's suggestion.

What a homer suggestion.I guess Stauffer missed seeing Snow scrambling for Vis and Murray,to shore up his 2012-2013 defense?

Or maybe,he thinks the isles need more picks/prospects/ after 5 drafts of stockpiling picks/prospects?

The Islanders have tons of d-men. They just picked 7 this past draft, lol.

NYI are not concerned with hitting the Cap floor.
And they are very happy to have Nabby at $2.5m.
Isles cap is at $44m

Below are the moves I think Snow will make, based on his comments since the season ended.Moves that will push him to the $54m cap floor.

$4m for Parenteau or other top 4 forward.
$3m-$3.5m for ufa defenseman
$1.4m De Haan
Poulin or Nilson at $600,000
Nelson $2.9m

Unfortunately, the best of the lot,Reinhart,is probably 2 -3 yrs away.

But,if the Oilers want Pokka, make an offer

Yeah that won't matter, they need to hit the cap floor. Reinhart will be in the NHL whether he's ready for it or not. Those ELC contracts with bonuses are a nice cushion for a cap floor teams.

Yeah they only have 2 goalies under contract right now. don't they usually run a 4 or 5 goalie system there?

Who the hell is Nelson and why would he make that much?

Frans Nielson. Typo. He's an overpaid 3rd liner (not quite as overpaid as Horcoff of course).

For Streit...I think you're looking at something like Peckham and a 3rd round pick. Streit is a good player, but he's pretty one dimensional along the lines of Souray.

Frans Neilson's overpayed?

But after seeing what you think Streit's worth, I shouldn't be surprised. Jeezus.
