Here is what I would do.
We will not win the cup in the next 3 years.
Next years draft is supposed to be a good one including MacKinnon

As much as Plakenacs is loved .On a good team he is a third line center.
He needs to go for a first round pick in 2013

Gionta if he comes back and scores 20 plus He will also command a first round pick

Cole has been amazing butfor a team that has a shot he will also return a first round pick

Markov maybe....if he returns healthy it should be a consideration for a first rounder with prospects

a dream imagine 4 or 5 first round picks in 2013

bottom line we cannot win with this team and the above assests will put us in a position to win in 3 to 5 years

If all those players have good enough seasons to fetch 1 round picks, than the Habs will be pretty high in the standings and therefore, they wont move them... you know, to win the cup.
