Islanders Pre-Season Schedule Announced

Today the Islanders announced their pre-season schedule, as follows:

Thursday, Sept 27th @ Edmonton
(split squad with half playing at Rexall Place in Edmonton, the other half in Regina, SK)

Saturday, Sept 29th @ New Jersey

Sunday, Sept 30th @ Ottawa
(split squad with half playing at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, the other half in Barrie, ON)

Tuesday, Oct 2nd vs. New Jersey, 7:30pm (Brooklyn – Barclays Center)

Thursday, Oct 4th vs. Rangers, 7pm (Coliseum)

They're actually playing NYR again in exhibition at NVMC but the game in Brooklyn is what I'm pumped for.

If they were worth a damn, I'd go to NJ and to see the usual fight fest with NYR pre-season. Would've gone to B'port as it's close to me. Only 5 games. Why do NYI always seem to play the fewest pre-season games? (Wang paying thing?)

Actually, it's 7 not 5 as that's two games on each of the split-squad days.

Here it is, they have 3 "home" games, 2 of which are not local, (2 of the split squad). As was discussed a few months back, the brooklyn game is technically a devil home game. Not that it matters, as barclays is promoting the isles in this game in hopes it becomes their home in 2015.

And this is why they'll have a slow start again this year. I feel they need at least 2-3 games of a near full squad to get in sync and ready for the regular season but it will not happen with this schedule.
