Dick Irvin was the new Montreal coach. He had an interesting end of training camp activity. Players were given a 20 question test about the rules. Player with the highest score received $5.00

Interesting idea, see where your players are at with the basics, take it from there. That was Irvins first year with Montreal, being essentially forced to resign in Toronto by Smythe, replaced by Hap Day, then recommended by Smythe for the Canadiens position as there was some concern that the Habs might not survive coming out of the 30's.
