LOL.

In the last 5 years, his ranking for scoring as a RW:

29
12
16
6
7

Add in his other intangibles and he's definitely a first liner.

Since there are 30 teams, I'd like to see what you define as a first liner.

If he signs with Vancouver he'll be on a cup contender and has a decent chance to exact revenge on the Kings in the playoffs.
Not sure if he cares about going to Canada or not though.

If PHX relocates (which I don't think will happen, at least until after 2012-23), I would be shocked to see him in a Stars uniform. He's a Coyote at heart and our teams don't really get along too well. Plus the whole cheap shot on Benn that landed him a suspension.

If I were to guess/think of a team he would go to (and this is pure speculation) I would think TB, BOS, Peg, COL or MIN. From what I have seen as a Stars fan, he is more suited for the Western Conference.

Care to back that up with something tangible?

Coming from a Coyotes fan, I'd say he goes to either Anaheim, L.A., Vancouver, San Jose, or maybe even Colorado. I think he stays as far west as possible. I think he's looking for a 4 year deal followed by retirement. I'm praying he comes back though, this ownership **** reallt ****s with the true fans in Arizona. There may not be 18,000 of us to fill the seats but there are plenty of us outside of the area of the arena. It's unfair to lose people on these circumstances. I wish they would stop ****ing with us and either move the team or sell it and keep it here already. This uncertainty is ********.

Of course. It was very emotional. I have no idea how the Kings would feel if the Kings got Doan. I'm over it because I have always liked him. It's still very fresh though. But, I think the team would get over it and welcome him because hes a damn good player. I know a lot of Kijgs fans would be iffy.

Doan has averaged 55 points over the last 3 seasons. He has also under-performed in the playoffs. For a guy who is known as a "heart and soul" type of player, a captain to boot, he only has 28 points in 55 playoff games. The guy has also never been a PPG player in his career.

Since when do you have to be a ppg player to be on the first line? 30 teams x 3 = 90 first line forwards. How many are ppg?

If you've been in the league for as long as he has and have been considered a first liner, you should at least have put up ONE ppg season. Even if it's an injury plagued one.

He will just sign a one year deal with Phoenix and keep doing it until the team eventually relocates.

The thread is based on Phoenix relocating.

I cant imagine them relocating this year, with it being so late in the offseason.

If Phoenix moves to Quebec city, you can all but guarantee he won't be sticking around...

If he's dead set on staying as close to Phoenix as possible, I'd bet on Colorado as the most likely destination (LA/SJ don't have the cap space or a big enough need,

Otherwise, I would see Calgary or Edmonton as the most likely destinations... he has alberta roots, and both clubs have the need and the cap space to make it happen.

Doesn't change the point of the thread.

In 07-08 he got 78 points in 80 games. And he's better than players like Dustin Brown or other players. Just because he's not a star doesn't mean he's not a first liner. And if he plays on a teams second line, so what?

I'd gladly give him a 4 for 4 contract.

They are all young, Kopitar well for sure be a PPG player down the road while Richards and Carter have already done it

In my opinion points don't really tell the whole story with guy like Doan. This is a real leader who plays with his heart on his sleeve. I am very understanding of your inability to understand this point being a fan of the Nux.
Maybe your team could of used someone like this in either of then last two years....oh nevermind, you've got some great first line players that get plenty of points.....

Brown is 27 and Williams is 30. Richards and Carter are not on the first line.

So that I understand you correctly... because 4 years ago Richards and Carter hit a PPG clip they deserve to be called 1st liners? Even though the ppg% of Richards/Carter/Doan has a gap of roughly .09 career wise.
