Most exciting prospect?

Out of all detroits prospects who are you most excited to see play in the NHL?

Excitable or exciting?

I'd say the most exciting is Jarnkrok or Jurco or B. Smith.

Most excitable...McCollum seems pretty skittish.

Jarnkrok.

That's assuming both Smith and Nyquist will be in the NHL this year, and no longer are considered prospects.

Yeah I dont think Nyquist or B. Smith are really prospects as I believe they will get and have earned steady roles on the big club.

Im really excited for Jurco personally and I'm thinking that Pulkkinen will blow up if he gets a chance I know he has kinda fell out of grace after last season but I still think he should do really well.

edit: as for Jarnkrok, he should be very interesting to see play/ pan out.

Ignoring Smith and Nyquist, both whom i think will be entertaining players to watch due to their style/skill, Jarnkrok has been my favorite Detroit prospect since watching the 2010 World Juniors. I was instantly sold that the NHL was in his future.

I'm very excited to see Oullet and Callahan with the Wings. Oullet looks like a stud, and Callahan is the kind of guy the Wings have needed for years--a heart and soul player who'll do anything for his teammates. He's McCarty 2.0.

Not surprising given my avatar but I find Tvrdon to be a very intriguing prospect.

He might not be a big gun or even a sure thing like Jurco, Nyquist, Jarnkrok, and Smith guys I all believe will be solid if not big contributors going forward. I just think he has a real interesting makeup as a big guy that can put the puck in the net a variety of different ways. If he puts together consistency next year and moving forward I expect him to start getting a lot of hype.

I'm going to assume you mean exciting. It's hard to choose just one, if I had to rank them though:

1. Jarnkrok - Our top prospect (Nyquist and Smith are rookies at this point)
2. Jurco -
3. Tvrdon - I guess I'm going off his production and the few highlights of Vancouver games, but his size, skill and the possibility of linking up with Jurco in the future are things that intrigue me.
4. Pulkkinen - can he prove us wrong and live up to expectations? Times I saw him at the WJC, he definitely had my attention.
5. Ouellet - I don't know, I just hear so many good things about him, he seems legit.
6. Mrazek - He turned some heads during the WJC, let's see what he's got.

HM: Sheahan, Bäckman and Marchenko

This draft class: Frk, Athanasiou (just to see if he improves, he seems to have potential, but could just be the next Ferraro) and Bodin (6'6" giant centering our 4th line and running over anything that moves, yes please!)

So, yeah, basically our whole prospect pool

I like Jurco and now everything I've read about Frk. Can't wait to see what they both do.

Really difficult to name one prospect and also there's basically not a single one I don't like. Hudon is the only iffy one since he's got his personal issues and atm it doesn't look like he'll be a part of the Wings' future. Järnkrok is the most promising+likely but there are quite a few with high-end potential who I'm very excited to hopefully one day see playing in the Wings-jersey. I'll go with an unusual choice, Mattias Bäckman. He was extremely impressive at the WJC this year and will hopefully get a bigger role with Linköping in 2012-13. Good frame but such a raw project, listed at 6’2” and only 169 lbs. Say what you want but his style of play does remind me of a certain #5 (which is also Bäckman's jersey# ).

For me it's a tie between Tvrdon and XO.

For me it's Sproul.

His abilities with his size, he's a dynamic puck mover.

I'm eager to see Jarnkrok...I'd obviously like to see Smith and Nyquist in a full season as well.

What's cool to see in this thread is there are a lot of different names being mentioned. It's not like the Wings have just one or two interesting prospects...they've got a lot of kids with some buzz around them.

I liked what I saw from Jurco during his time with the Sea Dogs so I'll go with him.

Yeah I was shocked to see how much attention this thread received so quickly

But as for our prospects I think we are set for a while as long as We don't move any in trades. I think we are all super eager to see Jurco and Jarnkrok.

As for our projects Im chomping at the bits to see Mike Mckee wreck some guys in the majors hopefully he doesn't lose his edge playing at Western michigan.

Michael McKee. Obviously still a long way out, but I'll be watching this kid's development with hope that he stays on track to crack the Wings' NHL lineup in the future.

After Jarnkrok I'd be excited for Jurco. And watching Ouellet I'd say he seems like a great pick too. Best D in the Q this upcoming year.... And of course Frk

Damn, you guys keep stealing great Q talent
