Meanwhile, the physiotherapist was exactly like I thought she would be: Old, unsure and didn't know her ****. Eventually she looked at me on my underwear, ordered me to walk around and lay down at about every position imaginable and then simply gave me a hip support belt and gave me another reservation at next thursday 8.30am.

Oh yeah, and I should self-bump that Couch thread.

Yeah... At Sipoo we call our healt center a "Guess Center". They always send us to Porvoo, no matter what.

"Arvauskeskus"? Yeah, that's common around here, too. Well, they found the probable reason for my back problems - a slipped disc (spinal disc herniation). I was suspecting it might be that from the start but it's been all but proven now - and it took only 4 visits to the health center

In other news, just contacted an old friend and turned out she's coming to the outdoor ball in Helsinki today, where I'm going too (not dancing obviously, just generally hanging around and meeting friends). She'll be also staying over at my place to Saturday as she doesn't have a place to stay around Helsinki. I don't mind, although I do have work in Friday and Saturday.

I work crappy hours which means I get home around 10-11 (sometimes earlier). The kid is at daycare (or a grandparent's) and the gal is working. Which is somewhat nice to have time to myself and then go get the little one later in the afternoon.

All in all, it's nice if you don't mind getting up and going to work at the same time all the Late Nighters around here spam the board.

Yeah I just had to post it.
Bingo.

Ya, pretty easy to fit to people on a taped off section of floor. Hell, most of us are from Minnesota and spent a lot of time on lakes. What's it like when two people try to fit on something that's not properly buoyant? Doesn't work all that well.

Next Tuesday or Thursday, which is too long.

Dang. Must have quite the waiting list to get your bike in...

Too effing hot to ride today, though. So there's that.

Yep. That and they have to order the part and are doing a tune up (for some reason it's cheaper that way).

But I have other things to take care of this week so it's not the end of the world.

So the doctors finally called me back.

They dont want to put me on any "real" painkillers.

And the oral surgeon has not yet gotten the OK from my insurance to schedule the surgery to have my wisdom teeth out.

****ing great.

Sadly, I've seen people actually do an estimated calculation for the buoyancy of that scene. They determined that with reasonable weight expectations, it would have remained buoyant, and even had space for another 50lbs-100lbs or something.

But are we sure that the object from the real Titanic had the same buoyancy?

I didn't fact check their estimates, but items don't have "their own buoyancy." It's just a measurement of water displacement versus weight. The dimensions of it are easy to see, so the only possible error is their weight estimates of the two people and the piece of debris.

We don't even know what type of wood it is, so we don't even know if they were right when they did the calculations. And yes, I know what buoyancy is, just trying to tie it together with the actual event rather than a movie.
