Usually press only writes when something goes bad... but I guess Vatanen will get interviewed soon in OC...so we'll know more.

This is going to be quite an interesting camp to follow, the more I think about it. Obviously, Lindholm and Vatanen will garner a lot of interest. Especially with the latter, however, I think the actual training camp will be more of a focus for him (of course).

Since he was brought up in the other thread, Karlsson should be interesting to see. Wagner and Welinski are two others I'm specifically looking forward to hearing impressions on.

I'm happy camp is open for two days this year, maybe more of us can get there. It's a great take for the kids too, they get to see these guys up close and they were signing for everyone.

I saw the scrimmage on the opening day of last years camp with a few hundred other people. I know it was 4 on 4 but Chris Wagner was the best player in that game. He has good size, great speed and his hands were above average and hounds the puck. The staff must be high on him too, they paid him the max entry level contract. I've been unable to find any high-lights to speak of, but everything you read on the kid talks about his strength. I think he can turn into a real strong player. I'm glad camp has a lot more guys in this year. It will be interesting to see him along side guys who are always rated above him like Rakell and Holland.

If Friberg and Wagner pan out those are home run 5th round picks.

Here's a recap of picks over the last 4 years. With the official exit of Schultz, 2008's draft is not much better than 2007 & 2006. Thank goodness for the 2009-2012 drafts.

From their twitters, looks like we have a close knit group of prospects. Nice to see.

Yeah, noticed that to.

Karlsson (W.), Friberg, Rakell, Cramarossa, Devo and Etem have been tweeting for some time now. According to Lasch, also Vatanen has been in that mix for a while now (at least at some points) but he have no twitter account - he`s just that silent type of guy.

Since we have 5 or 6 nationalities, its good that they mix up already.

PS
Etem needs a nickname. Just like Devante is Devo, he (Emerson) could be Emo

Or if you don't capitalize, we could call him "Natural log."

I guess we would then have to trade him to Edmonton, though, because he would also be called "Euler's number."

How come Schultzy isn't participating. Too busy competing in his own version of the Bachelorette I suppose.

I think it mostly because he did the college route so he was kinda separated, but he's never really been included. Only guy I saw tweet him was Kerdiles.

The group has been Devo, Etem, Cramarossa, Karlsson, Friberg, Rakell (with Lasch and Vatanen, Gibson mentions)

Also you can't forget the Bonino, Palmieri, Maroon, Holland, Caputi, group.

Kerdiles, Lindholm, and Roy will fit in nicely.

Isn't Rakell expected to go back to Europe again for another season or is there a shot he might make a roster slot?

Rakell actually plays in the OHL for the Plymouth Whalers and it's doubtful he'll make the Ducks out of camp, so he'll most definitely be back in juniors next season.

I remember that good luck in Anaheim tweet to Schultz, forgot it was Kerdiles though, pretty funny considering we drafted him.

Rakell will likely be sent back to the OHL (it's either NHL or juniors for him, AHL isn't an option). You might be thinking of Friberg who signed an ELC but is expected to go back to play in Sweden next year.
