Are the Panthers Better Today Than The End Of Last Season

As of today, July 3rd, are the Panthers better, about the same or worse than the end of last season. They have lost two key members of their powerplay which provided much of the offense for one of the NHL's poorest offensive teams. They added a 35yo blueliner who scored 6 goals to replace a 27yo who scored 16. They have failed, at this point, to replace Sammy. Seemingly they are depending on youngsters to improve the offense which is always a gamble. People point out the contribution of Gudbranson last season but remember most of that came late, his minutes were very limited the first half of the season. They have added toughness in Parros but remember he is replacing both Bradley and Barch so does that really make us a tougher team. Imo, as of this minute, the Panthers are a worse team than the one that came one goal from eliminating the eventual Eastern Conference Champions. What say you?
