Stay Classy, Bruins

Quote:
For shame Bruins, for shame.

I was at the Sabres vs Bruins game on Thursday night, and while I was trying to procure a beverage before the game, I came across a table where they had Bruins memorabilia, all framed and autographed for auction. There was lots of classic stuff, Cam Neely and Bobby Orr and the like, and then I came across this.

http://www.diebytheblade.com/2013/2/...uins-for-shame

I would say that I'm surprised that the Bruins organization would do something this ****** but then I remember that they are owned by Jeremy Jacobs

yeah that's extremely tasteless. To have that picture signed and up for auction shows that it was an incident they were proud of

I didn't think my respect for Lucic could get any lower, but the fact that he signed the picture makes me hate him even more. I really wish this coward would go with Scott; toughest guy in the league my ass.

They are proud of it.

Bruins fans will be the first to tell you they completely embrace 'old time hockey', goonery, and the like.

They embrace it until it happens to them, then boners like Edwards try to insult players like Scott.

Hypocrisy is nothing new to the Boston Bruins organization and those associated with it (players, announcers, fans, etc.). They whine for years (even decades) after the fact about hits that were borderline and often not even penalties (Samuelsson on Neely, Cooke on Savard, etc.) but then celebrate cheapshots by their own players.

That's pretty funny. If I was a Bruins fan, I'd be all for it. It doesn't bother me at all. Just helps the rivalry, which is a good thing.

I mean, it's your typical bully mentality, right? When they're the biggest, baddest kid on the block, it's easy to embrace it. Once someone gives you the same medicine, the bully shies away.

Its no worse than the signed Domi KO of Samuelsson when he cheap shot him. Its a framed triple shot of the glove drop, the punch and then Domi standing over Ulf.

That timeout was probably Lindy's best coaching decision in the last couple seasons.

Pretty sure putting MacDermid out there was conceding the game was over, not to start trouble. I think the Sabres are taking this "tough team" team too far. Up 3 goals with a few seconds left to call a time out, I thought we were trying to "flex our muscles" so to speak.

MacDermid, to that point, had 1 shift in the 3rd period, for 39 seconds.

You can concede the game is over without tossing the designated good on the ice. Boston has a reputation for starting crap late, so Ruff wanted to be careful.

He did it right.

Hopefully never. I'd rather stay out of the sewers that the Bruins community inhabits.

No. It doesn't work that way. Julian sees Hecht - Vanek - Pominville on the ice and throws out MacDermid to concede the loss?

Boston has last change at home.

Lets turn the table around. We are losing 7-4 at home. Julian puts out Marchand - Bergeron - Seguin. We put then counter with Scott - Ellis - Gerbe. Ruff is just putting Scott out there to concede the game, right?

The onus is on the home team to decide to goon it up or not.

Maybe ... maybe not! Bruins have doen this at least once before against Montreal. How does Lindy know for sure? He does not. He has to do what is necessary. Didnt you see Scott move away from MacDermid and towards his d-man before the puck drop, to ensure that the message was "I am not here to start something"?

As for the memorobilia, eh. Par for the course. Playing to the mentality of the fans who would buy it. "Real men weah Blahck." Remember, the Bruins and their fans said Miller was faking. The whole incident was wicked awesome.

Anyone who concusses a guy, then hopes he's ok and builds him up right after is OK in my book.

I guess someone had already purchased the autgraphed picture of Lucic beating his girlfriend and then asking the police if they "knew who he was"
