Kadri for the latter half of his AHL season has been playing as a center.
I saw some in the playoffs for sure but how much in the regular season? His weakness is faceoffs so without that he won't get a look unless he just pours the points in. Also I don't think there is any way Burke goes with two flyweight centers.
Edit: Seriously, does any one know how many games he actually got in at the centre position?

I like Mueller. And he's also American too. He had a good season with Colorado, just a bit of an injury bug. I think if we can get him, Kulemin could be move for a centre.
Why do some people in here constantly mention this as if this is somehow an important quality that Burke looks for in a player if they're gonna play on the Leafs?
If this was true, then why did he just draft 5 Canadians and only 1 American a week ago??
Anybody who believes this to have any bearing in Burke's decision making on talent evaluation is a moron, plain and simple.

No but it does peak his interest, he's always said that.. He can relate to these guys in terms of living in Canada compare to the States and he has a big stake in Team USA so I'm sure he has connections with a lot of those guys.

Then please provide a link to which interview that he supposedly said this on. If he did in fact say this, then I'll apologize to you.

Connelly was pretty bad in the face-off circle, It looked like most of the time he just wasn't trying lol. That said if Kadri puts some muscle on this summer he should eventually get the strength required to win face offs.

Toronto likely has more American born players on their team than most if not all other NHL teams, and being Canadian based, with the fact +50% of all NHL players Canadian born there is a pattern here. Actions speak louder than words so lets see;
- Luke Schenn (Canadian) traded for James Van Riemsdyk (American)
- Tyler Sequin, Dougie Hamilton & Jared Knight (all Canadian) for Phil Kessel (American).
- Last summer signed Tim Connolly (American), traded drat picks for JM Liles (American) and David Steckel (American).
- Signed Mike Komisarek (American), traded for Mike Brown (American), Jake Gardiner (American), Joey Crabb (American), drafted Kenny Ryan, Jerry D'Amigo, Tyler Biggs all Americans etc from the USNDP.
Seeing as how GM Burke (American) is loading up on American born players, that is what would give people the idea he prefers Americans.
Considering Peter Mueller played center for Phil Kessel at the U.S. National U18 Team (USNDP) & played together WJC in 2004 & 2005 teams.
Therefore considering Peter Mueller is an American a UFA, and a center, while being linked to Kessel in the past and comes from Burke's home state of Minnesota no less I think its easy to connect the dots to believe he is on Leafs radar as a potential signing this summer.
If he comes relatively cheap its probably worth a gamble as a former 1st round selection #8 overall.
