Just throwing this out there, and it would never happen but... we should try to sign Jagr for a year. Let him play with Dubinsky. Has a better chance of happening than Selanne I will say and doesn't commit us long term to a gamble like Semin.

Don't think it's crazy and would kind of be a nice story. He would help the PP for sure
Also he could slide in for Gabby as a stop gap until he's ready

Unfortunately I don't think that the interest is there from our front office...

I doubt Jagr would say no to playing here considering we are "contenders" and he has a history with us.

Could be some big NHL news today. Stay tuned NY Rangers fans.
What is Buccigross tweeting about?

Schultz? Ryan/Nash? A deal to move our minor league team to Poughkeepsie?

Nothing is going on with Ryan or Nash.

Columbus is waiting for Parise to sign somewhere besides in New York so they can squeeze the Rangers in a Nash deal.

Damage has been done and I'm biggest Jagr fan here, but he's not coming back.

I think Torts and Jags would be a disaster.

depends on the $$...smyth is probably still a 2nd line guy and might help our pp standing in front. but he's also a guy i'd look at to backfill positions if we end up trading multiple players for a forward. which could just as easily be a 3rd line spot

I'd rather have Enver Lisn or Alex Frolov on the 1st line than give up the assets to acquire Rick Nash. Seriously, I will have a hard time stomaching him on the team.

most of you guys think i'm on crack and I understand this is not a video game but if the Rangers sign Schultz it opens up the option of moving Del Zotto in a package for a guy like Nash.

Its banking too much on Schultz yes but the Rangers are deep on D prospects with Erixon close and McIlrtah maybe a yr away

Why are we moving Del Zotto again? Do people not realize that his 2nd cheap RFA contract is worth gold???!?!?!? You want to move it in a package for Rick Nash!!?!?!?? That's lunacy.

With Ryan and Doan's emergence into the market, not to mention Parise, Whitney, and Semin, who were already expected to be available, now would be a smart time for Howson to get the most he can for Nash. If the few teams on his list acquire other guys, he could be left with nothing but a disgruntled captain.

However, nothing has suggested Howson is smart, so I expect he will continue to drag his feet expecting the market to boom.
