Could be a great deal if he continues where he left off in the playoffs.

Lets see....

Awful in the 1/4 season he played immediately after trade to us.
Awful in the playoffs vs the Sharks that year.
Awful this regular season.
Great 20 game playoff stretch.

I'm fine with him back and really since its 1 year, dollar doesn't matter. If it was anything over one year, I'd be mad. Hopefully he plays well this year.

Last season was by far the worst of Penner's career(excluding the cup of course) and I don't expect it to be the norm. 3M for 25 goals will be a good deal.

Penner was much better for Sutter than Murray. Glad he's back, and glad it's only one year

You do know that he is 2x 30 goal scorer with size and hands? Very rare combination of a player. He would've gotten 4-5, but was kind enough to take discount.

He'll come back rejuvenated and as a confident man after his stellar performance in the playoffs and with a full season of Darryl Sutter riding him.

This is a good deal. He gets another chance to prove himself after having a solid playoffs.

Can't help but think his personal life had something to do with his poor play. Once the news came out about his divorce, and of course the change in coaching, he seemed to start turning it around. Here's to hoping he has a hell of a comeback year.

BTW, his OT goal against PHX that put LA into the SCF was worth $4.25 million in my books.

He's a one time 30 goal scorer.

He has 30 goals in the past 2 seasons.

He's not the player he used to be.

GM's shouldn't be signing players based on a solid 2 months and past seasonal performances.

3M is a ridiculous amount, especially for a team short on cap space like the Kings.

Agreed. He has publicly said how awful he was this season and how he wouldn't wish what happened to him off the ice upon anyone. I see him having a great year under Sutter.
