Ever since he got waived in Ottawa and unclaimed he has been playing very solid and more physical, a shame Ottawa let him go but I guess it was fair to let him start over in a new franchise.

Agreed x1000. He's sort of a jack of all trades but a master of none. Terrible Terrible Terrible shot.

A pairing of Lee-Aulie would be deadly good for many years to come

Hey, it was Vinny Lecavalier who worked with Stamkos to perfect his deadly one-timer, maybe Vinny can help Lee improve his shooting!

Really? Did not know that.

Anyway, good signing. Hopefully he keeps progressing.

Decent bottom pairing player. Always liked the effort he put in. Too bad we got that piece of **** Gilroy back for him.

I was one of the few Sens fans who thought Lee was a good stay-at-home D. Nothing flashy about his play but I liked him way better than Kuba and often thought he should have taken over his spot. A good signing by TB and happy for Lee.

Very good signing. Would love if he was still on the Sens, but we didn't seem to give him a fair shake, and opted for Gilroy

Finally Lee got a real shot as a top 6 DMan. Nice for him. Hopefully he'll do good and will have a successful career in TB, something that the organisation in Ottawa never gave him a rel chance to do.

Yes, Vinny and Stammer used to stay out at the end of practice and work on Stammer's one timer. People forget, but Vinny has always had the same shot, just from the right dot instead of the left. We always kid here that we'd love to see them at the dots on the same power play, one timers from both sides. Poor goalie!

Wasn't big on the trade then, and definitely not right now. While Lee hasn't shown himself to be a special talent like Muckler thought he was when he drafted him, I thought Lee was making some decent progress this season, at the very least he was a formidable bottom pairing guy who was not going to lose a game for you. Never really got a fair shake at a regular spot for whatever reason.

This. He was rounding himself into a good top-four defenseman before we traded him for that pilon Gilroy. Great move by Stevie Y.

Your run of the mill 3rd pairing d-man, solid signing but nothing special (or worth all the crying Sens fans).

Get Aulie signed and we got our 3rd pairing. When they came to our team our defense played much better. It was too late though because we were well out the playoffs by then. Our defense should be better overall this year with the addition of these guys. All we need to really solidify it is get a top 4 guy or maybe 2 of them but it will be hard to do with so little out there. Sutter would be a great addition but everybody will be trying to get him.

This.

If you could somehow combine Lee and MAB, you might end up with a legit top 4 d-man.

Best of luck all the same.

I can't imagine seeing him as a legitimate top-4 guy on a good team, but stranger things have happened.

He's got size, skating, and a good attitude. His passing is decent but his shot is not NHL calibre.

Maybe someday he'll be a good complementary partner for a more talented player like the Orpik/Doughty pairing or Phillips/Chara. He definitely has talent himself, but the only role he ever carved for himself was taken by Carkner who could do everything Lee could do as well as fight.
