Perry and Ott. Let's hate this club.

Well, keep an eye out in the future for 2012 NHL Draft pick #108-Andrew O'Brien. Because that's the pick the Sharks gave up by re-signing Huskins.

bobby ryan - PERFECT fit for jumbo's line.

shane doan- tons of grit and skill, would look good with jumbo but isnt the elite scorer ryan is

parise- would cost 0 assets

nash- good skater, good hands. but hes a lefty shot, and no matter how much him and jumbo are friends, i bet jumbo would prefer a righty

the rest.

Another one of DW's brilliant moves. Not only the original trade, but then Moen actually wanted to stay but never heard anything from the Sharks before signing elsewhere.

I have a feeling Winnik is going to go the same route Moen did.

Except Winnik played well.

Ugh don't even talk about Moen, that guy was spineless when he was here. Just as bad as Soupcan not wanting to block a shot in the playoffs so he didn't jeopardize his payout.

David Pollak ‏@PollakOnSharks
Hearing we shouldn't expect #sjsharks to sign any of their UFAs before Sunday. Means Winnik, Mitchell, Winchester among those in play.

Uhg, bleh.

Why did we trade McGinn? I knew that was going to be a stupid move.

Banking on turning Galiardi around who does have more potential than McGinn but Jamie was never in as bad of a funk as a player as Galiardi has been.

Damn, I wanted Stepniak. I really don't get DW here - are there really any better options than Winnik at this point in the free agency?

I'm thinking DW wants to make a splash and wants to keep as much cap space as he can until then, so 3rd liners like Winnik he is putting off.

If he does have interest in Winnik then it will probably cost him because there are a boat load of teams out there that have $$ to spend this year and it won't take long for some team to offer Winnik a Malhotra type deal.

I don't see us doing much in Free Agency. I see trading Murray/Demers for a solid 3rd liner and maybe sign a 7th D and some 4th line muscle later in the off-season.

Anyone who thinks we are going to make a splash in FA is dreaming big time...

It may not be through FA but I'd be surprised if they go into the season with virtually the same team other than Stuart.

DW has hinted too much this offseason at potential changes.

And a "splash" in FA for the Sharks can be a guy like Doan or Whitney, not a Parise or Suter.

Hmm, from Avs beat guy

adater ‏@adater
Wouldn't blow me away in shock if Avs get Winnik back. Unlikely but...

Would be cool if we just reversed that trade, assuming Winnik wants the 2.5m and perhaps McGinn still has his heart in San Jose. Doubt that would happen, but ya never know.

I haven't paid attention to FA signings in the past but are there usually a lot of FA signings on July 1st?

I agree with your list. IMO, I would like to see doan based on the fact that his "grit" is what the Sharks are lacking. Theres enough talent on the Sharks front end already. Doan would add to it, but also supply the testicles that were missing last season.

I know that Ray Whitney may be old, but I think he has 1 more year in him. I think with his age, maybe we could land him for the 3mill he got last year.
Doan is a leader, I dont think he would want to loose his C.

The consensus on the Avs' board is that it is highly improbable that Winnik would return to Colorado. A reputable poster said the Avalanche's and Winnik's camps were far apart in contract "talks" earlier this season, hence why he was traded. The same thing happened in PHX, apparently- he has supposedly been a tough one to negotiate with. I really hopes he stays with you all in SJ.

McGinn was traded because he wasn't able to push the play against weak competition and Pavs and JT were burdened with cleaning up his messes. Plus the Sharks tried to upgrade their penalty kill
