My guess would be Ottawa or Toronto; I don't think he cared much for how the fans treated him in Montreal whether it was deserved or not is another issue.

The media was hard on him (what else is new) but he always had fans here. He wasn't run out of town by any means.
I very want Latendresse on the Leafs. Perfect fit, big power forward with skills and a very good wrister.
Have you even seen him play? He's not even close to being a power forward. He's a big, skilled player but he's not what you would call a "power forward"

Obviously you haven't seen him play then. He is definitely a power forward.

Just because he hits doesn't mean he's a power forward. I watched every game he had in Montreal and the guy barely ever drove the net or screened the goalie/battled in front of the net... stuff power forwards do.

Latendresse is no longer the overweight lazy player that he use to be. He's now in shape and if very motivated. Some team is going to get him on the cheap and he's going to be a good goal scorer. Fletcher is a complete moron for not just qualifying him. We just lost a probable 30 goal scorer for nothing. Combine that with the fact that we won't get anybody in free agency and this team now sucks.
Too bad he's set on returning to the East, I'd take him in a heartbeat at the right amount in Anaheim. He'd be a great fit playing LW with Getzlaf and Perry or could create a deadline 2nd line power forward combination with Ryan. I see Toronto getting in on this one for sure, Latendresse, when healthy, almost epitomizes Burke's model of size and truculence.
Any team that signs him would be smart to go 1-yr with incentives. But there will be some dumb GM that offers more. My take on him as a Wild STH. Motivation a ? Poor skater. Doesn't play "big." A knack for being round the puck. Good in the offensive zone only. A high-risk, high-reward signing. If he doesn't want to be in Minny for what Fletch likely/rightfully offered him considering what he contributed, I say see you Gui. MN's, of which I am not a native, have a tendency to assume because the player was good 3 yers ago, he will be the same player he was then. I would rather see it first, rather than pay-up for the hope. Considering the money rolling-off next year for the Wild, useless Backstrom & Bouchard, plus Cullen contracts, a good 2012-2013 could pay-off bigger next year for Gui if he stuck around.

The Wild offered him an incentive heavy deal that would have gotten him up to the $2.5 million he would have gotten with a qualifying offer, and he said it was a fair deal. He just wants to be closer to home, and to family.
I expect that he'll get more in free agency, but I would believe any team that signs him will surely include incentives considering his history.
If Parise is headed to Minny, you'd think complementary wingers like Latendresse would be begging to hang around.
TOML
Parise is nothing but a fantasy dreamed up by desperate Wild fans. We won't get anybody good via free agency, I guarantee it.

True but our GM is a moron for just not giving Lats the qualifying offer in the first place. The lowest scoring team in the NHL just gave up a 25+ goal scorer because they were too cheap and stupid.
Wouldn't mind him in Buffalo for a 1-2 year deal. He'd be relatively close to home and would give Buffalo a big-bodied forward in the top-9 that could hold the spot till Armia is ready.
