Realistic Career Projections for Habs Prospects
Hey everyone.
I have been trying to piece together and determine, what are realistic career projections for some of our prospects? And what is a good NHL comparable?
Let's see, I'll start:
Alex Galchenyuk - No.1 two-way centre, 70 + points, Jonathan Toews
Nathan Beaulieu - Top Pair Offensive D-man, 45-65 points, Mike Green/Dan Boyle?
Sebastian Collberg - Top Line Sniper, 65 + points, Bobby Ryan?
Jarred Tinordi - Top 4 Defensive D-man, 20-30 points, Tyler Myers?
I'll let you guys do the rest and/or build on mine.

So you're saying all our prospects will become superstar 1st liners and potential elite defensemen? Quite realistic indeed.

Yep, as realistic as it gets. What did you expect with the title though?

Beaulieu: Bottom pairing D, 2nd PP wave
Tinordi: The next O'Byrne
Galchenyuk: 3rd line center
Collberg: Talented player who can't score more than 50 points in any given season.

Collberg & Bobby Ryan just doesn't seem right.

Probably because Ryan is 6'2, 215 lbs and Collberg is nowhere close.

I know my predictions are a bit ambitious, but Beaulieu as a 4/5 defenseman doesn't seem right...

He needs to drastically improve his effort in the defensive zone in order to become something more than a PP QB at the NHL level. He has the talent.

Ok, I'll try
Galchenyuk : 75-85 pts two way center, 1st line, 1st PP
Beaulieu : 35-45 pts PMD , 1st PP, 2nd pair
Tinordi : 10-15 pts Shutdown D, 1st PK, 2nd-3rd pair
Gallagher : 40-50 pts , 20 goalscorer, top 9
Bournival : 20-30 pts, 3rd/4th line center, 1st PK
Ellis : 15-20 pts, 3rd pair, 2nd PK
Collberg : 45-60 pts , 20-25 goalscorer, top 6, 2nd PP
The other one still can surprise like Thrower, Bozon,Vail but I think guys like Kristo will not make it.

Honestly none of that would surprise me.
Except Galchenyuk

Galchenyuk: 75-80 pts, #1 center, two-way forward
Tinordi: 15 pts, #4 stay-at-home defenseman, leader and great penalty killer that will lack offensive abilities
Beaulieu: 30-45 pts, #4 PP QB, good puck mover but weak in the defensive zone
Gallagher: 55 pts, 2nd line forward, brings energy and skills
Ellis: 20 pts, #4-5 defenseman, can play PK, heart and soul player

I really hope you're right. I do see Galchenyuk becoming a number one center and a very good one at that. Kids got unreal skills and vision. Collberg prediction seems reasonable, maybe a bit weaker than that but not too much. Predictions for Tinordi and Beaulieu seem to be a stretch but hey, we can all dream can't we?

50-60 points makes you a first line player, just FYI.

Couldn't disagree more, he's not without faults, but Beaulieu is the type of dman who becomes a regular by 22-23 yrs old, he's a gem, his talent level is well ahead of most of peers, his defensive deficiencies are overstated and usually echoed by those who seen him play in the memorial cup and nothing else. Three - 4games and people are experts ard here

Realistic predictions on our prospect (trying to not let the fan speak)
Galchenyuk: 80pts+ 1st line center. Mix of Toews and Ron Francis
Tinordi: 10-15pts, #4-5-6 stay-at-home d. Hall Gill with a bit more mobility
Beaulieu: 30pts, #5,6 pp specialist. Hope I'm wrong on him...
Gallagher: 40-50 pts, 2nd line forward, Gionta 2.0
Ellis: 20 pts, #4-5-6 Georges 2.0
Leblanc: 50 pts 2nd liner , good PK'er, character. Mike Richards (got hopes for the kid)
Collberg: 25-30g scorer on Gally's wing. Speedy winger Poor man's Little Viking

I doubt Gallagher only becomes a 35/40 point man, he has the potential to be a first line player, and he has more offensif upside than leblanc ..
