Arnott should sign in Dallas, but they might think he is too yoing.

That's IF he can play RW.
Signing Arnott would make as much sense as signing Ethan Moreau or Trent Hunter. He's done.

If bust is bringing back the entire Stanley Cup Championship team, then I'm all for bust.

Doan isn't signing in LA for a discount and Dean isn't going to overpay for Doan.

I can see Doan taking a discount for a chance at the cup before retiring, and I can also see DL overpaying. Hopefully, not too much.

It depends on what premium Doan puts on staying near Arizona and his current home. He can get a lot more money and still have a chance at a cup somewhere else. Repeating is a rare and odd occurrence in today's NHL. Doan's agent is putting him well out of our price range and contract comfortability. If he compromises with us, it will be because of our location more than anything in my opinion.

Well, technically, its Doan or "come back with exactly the same team that just convincingly won a Stanley Cup".

I don't see the downside.

Neither do I.

I was speaking in terms of FA signing only.

I love our team as is.

The addition of Doan would just be the icing on the cake.

Vancouver and Doan have a lot of ties. If he doesn't stay in Phoenix I bet he goes there. If not, then I say San Jose, us and Chicago are next.

I don't think Doan will sign with us. We offered first and he didn't visit us, canucks have offered later and he already visited them. Count us out. But boy, the ultimate team to hate .

Did you have this positive attitude when Willie Mitchell visited with the Sharks and Capitals back in the summer of 2010? Doan has also visited with New York and Philadelphia and who knows who else that hasn't been reported.

It depends if he re-signs or have another good year, but for next year if either Penner or Gagne goes, I'd like the Kings to sign Joffrey Lupul. Yes, another former flyer.

Having Doan on the team would be awesome. In a way, i'm worried that there's no one new on the team. Its going to be really easy to get complacent. Detroit was the last team to make it back to the cup final the following year after having won the cup. IMO, them bring in Hossa really helped kept everyone focus. Hossa really wanted to win the cup

Everyone will be respectful of Doan chasing for the cup, and I think that's the biggest value he would bring to the team. Given that, I'm not paying the moon for him

The Lindros rumour about a bar fight was with Elvis Stojko. It would have been interesting to see that considering Stojko is a martial arts guy.

He may be staying in BC for part of the summer since his wife is from there. He also just had a golf tourney in BC, so why not visit the Canucks as part of his tour?

Ah yes, that was the urban legend (which wasn't true by the way).

Repeating would be incredible and I think that we are positioned significantly better than any other team post lock out to do so. It isn't as far fetched as you might think imo. It won't be easy and I can promise you that our roster will look a bit different before it is all said and done but I would give us a 50/50 chance at it as things stand today.

Adding Doan would increase the odds in our favor imo but he isn't entirely necessary. Besides, he will sign in Vancouver anyways if he leaves the dirt dogs.

I am willing to bet that we get a look at Kozun by the end of the year with the big club at least once and that he might be a nice late season spark plug for us heading into the playoffs. If we stay healthy we have an excellent shot at repeating to my way of seeing things.

We aren't a one and done team or at least we weren't built to be one like the Pens, Hawks, Ducks etc etc where.

50/50 is ridiculously optimistic

Id say 20% is the max chance and thats still optimistic
