Nope, it was a blogger who admitted to making it up.

When the playoffs were going on, Scott Oake showed a text message from Hartnell and said he was sending texts of encouragement to Richie, Cartsy and Stollsy. CBC showed it in the final game. He wouldn't have included Carter if there had been issues with him, he didn't even include Gagne who was a teammate of his for a few years.

Most likely scenario for the Coyotes at this point is playing another year under NHL ownership in Phoenix.

Lets hope.

Will make beating them again next season even better.

Doan, Burrows, Kesler, Lapierre, Bieksa, Hamhuis. What an unlikable team.

If you had asked me a few years ago, I probably would have loved Hartnell on the kings, but not any more.

I would rather see someone like King get another chance on the 2nd line, but I don't see that happening.

According to The Fourth Period, the Kings are supposedly talking to Cristobal Huet about a potential comeback:

If the Kings were to sign him it means Bernier is gone and the team does not trust any of the prospects enough for spot duty.

Just keep Bernier and dont mess with what works

I wouldn't mind Huet as a backup. Hope we get good value for Bernier though.

It's hard to keep a player when he has asked for a trade. Huet would be a great free agent signing.

Bernier for a pick and prospect. Mountain Dew it Deano!

Huet would make a fine backup goalie behind Quick. I would guess that the Kings would only go with a one-year contract with him should they end up trading Bernier.

Personally, I'd rather have Ersberg.

I'd be okay with Huet. It's what your looking for in this situation. veteran back up goalie who's had success in the NHL before.

Garon is with Tampa Bay and the Kings would have to trade for him, but he's slated to be Lindback's backup next season. Legace is 39 years old. I'd say he's done serving any role as an NHL goaltender.

Now if you are being facetious, there are other former Kings to consider, from Roman Cechmanek to Milan Hnilicka to Jean-Sebastien Aubin. Personally, I'm biased towards the Travis Scotts, Pauli Jaks, Barry Brusts, Adam Hausers, and Yutaka Fukufuji's of the Kings' past, obscure goalies who had a cup of coffee in the NHL then vanquished.

Not bad, he really only got forced out of the NHL because of that huge contract.
