Let's see what Edmonton offers us, shall we? Not much defensive depth over there, so can't really expect a nice swap in that regard. And obviously not going to be giving us any of their young guns for Hammer.

Hmmm.... maybe a draft pick or two? Edmonton will probably still miss the playoffs this season, so that could be valuable. Don't suppose they'd be willing to part ways with a first rounder, though. Additionally, moving Hammer frees up cap space to the point where going after Suter would be a possibility, which would undoubtedly be an upgrade along the blue line.

Also just for some comparision to a certain player hated by many on here

Also can anyone explain to me how Gagner is any different then having Frolik at C?

Better playmaker and a much better shot. I'd be happy with Gagner as the second line pivot.

I didn't see Eberle and RNH getting dominated physically despite being small...I actually saw them skating circles around people

No thanks

Hall is not gonna have a long career IMO

Injuries are piling up and his style of play doesn't bode well for longterm health

So get rid of Sharp. You guys would be crazy not to do that.

lol try to get Gagner so he doesn't score 8 points in a single game against us again.

The only way i'd want to trade sharp is for a premier #2C, if we acquire gagner+hall we no longer have that need. That being said i wouldn't mind a package involving sharp to take a shot at bernier+ this offseason. i'd love to have him here. With Lindback gone, and the canucks looking to move one of their keepers (and its not looking like one is coming to chicago) i'd say bernier is the last potential starter locked in a backup position out there right now.

I really expected a deal to have been made by now. 4 days since the 1st round. 4 days until FA period starts.

I thought bowman would have definitely made a move by now.

PLEASE no Gagner for Hammer PLEASE! Might as well leave Kruger there.

I'd really be curious to see what our 1st + Stalberg+ Hjalmarsson would get us. Hopefully a much, much better center than any of our 2C's and Gagner

I think they are going to wait to see what happens in free agency first. They aren't pressed by the cap so they can sign guys and then make trades later to get down to where they want to be.

This isn't a rumor but I wonder if the Hawks would take a run at Doan or Whitney?

I hope it's that. I never understood trading Hjalmarsson before signing Suter (hypothetically). Too many eggs in one basket

Right. I think they got a framework of a deal done and are waiting to see if they can get Suter before they pull the trigger. Heard from multiple sources in the days leading up to the draft and on draft day that they were close. If that was the case, they would have got something done.

They will be in the run for Suter but Bowman has yet to prove he can reel in a big name free agent (although would be impossible during 2010 offseason).

Suter is from Madison so that could really help in our favour.

Detroit as a city is a Pujol, so hopefully that helps him come here haha.

I believe they are holding onto Hjalmarsson until they see if they get Suter or not.

I can see Bowman signing Penner as a big body but Kings will likely resign him to keep the team together I would assume.

most red wings don't live in Detroit. They live in the mansions 35 minutes west

I know haha but still Chicago is much better than 35 minutes west of Detroit + closer to family.

Does Marian Hossa not exist anymore? Pretty sure its well known that Bowman wanted Hossa, Tallon wanted to keep Havlat.
