Islanders easily IMO, i think there is a clear drop off after that. Dynasties are as "legendary" as it gets.

After them its a tight grouping IMO of:

Pittsburgh
Philadelphia
NY Rangers
Chicago
Toronto

I know Toronto managed to snake their way on to the list already but thats where i'd put them. No cups post expansion just doesn't cut it, **** they haven't even made a finals i don't think.

It's not a poll of greatest teams. It's legendary teams, and a long championship drought adds to a legend. It did it to the Red Sox and the Cubs haven't won in a century.

anyway, i had a tought time voting against both Tampas, but i went NYI.

Thats an odd way of seeing things, so sucking makes you legendary?

Legendary definition

1.Of, described in, or based on legends.
2.Remarkable enough to be famous; very well known.

I don't think there is anything remarkable about a huge stanley drought. Ask St.Louis, Vancouver, Toronto, Buffalo fans if there is. Legendary should for the purposes of this poll imply greatness.

The word "remarkable" does not necessarily indicate that the reason for said "remarkability" is a positive one. Teams can certainly be remembered for the bad times too. While some seem to have forgotten the "Dead Wings" period, many do remember it and can't help but associate Detroit with that period if only for a moment. Almost everyone remembers the Rangers Cup drought leading into 1994. Many recall Chicago's record-setting Cup drought prior to finally winning in 2010. Etc.

Columbus. They drafted Rick Nash, had a calder trophy winner in Steve Mason and even made the playoffs. What more could you possibly ask for?
