Wants to play in Canada, assumes EDM and VAN are the front runners, and doesn't expect a decision until Friday night at the earliest.

At least you're not blinded on how Gardiner alone can lure Schultz to Toronto.

At least it's better than his parents have season tickets.

Too bad you would have a point if it was started by a Canucks blog writer / beat writer, but too bad it's not.

Why waste time hating anything that has little to do with you?
So I was in travelling in Greece two years ago and struck up a conversation with a couple on the ferry to Santorini. They ask me where I was from and I said Vancouver. They immediately replied "oh, the home of Nickleback..". Sorry, but when your hometown is associated with a talentless band like Nickleback, I take deep offence.

People saying he wants ice time only, he could have easily had that in Anaheim.

If you are saying he wants to play with offensive stars, he had that in Anaheim.

If you think he wants a better second contract, he could get that in Anaheim.

If you think its about a nice city, he had that in Anaheim.

If he wanted to play with good young defencemen, he had that in Anaheim.

The only thing Anaheim doesn't have : They aren't contenders right now, and he doesn't have some a bum chum there.

Either he goes to New York/ Toronto because hes infatuated with Gardiner/ McD
Or he goes to Vancouver because he wants to play at home.

I personally can't see why he didn't sign in Anaheim. I haven't heard anything about him being mistreated or anything. If he knew he was gonna do this, the least he could of done is told Murray early and allowed them to trade him.

First, not that anyone cares, this is my last post on this event.

My gut is that he ends up in Van.

But, the statement quoted above is a little bit much, no?

I know the Sens have a good team now and a ton of prospects in the system...but as a Ranger's fan, I look at my team and see a bunch of good "prospects," with a huge emphasis on the word prospects, but what the 2nd, 3rd youngest team in the league with guys that have already proven themselves at the NHL level.

Many thought the Sens would be a bottom-feader last year. More power to you guys for turning it around- "Rebuild Year 0" and all that...

I just don't see how OTT is so clearly better than the other 4 teams now and/or longterm...

That is why the sooner this thing ends the better for everyone...

It's all about his immeadiate plans. If he wants to win and be close to home, Vancouver.

If he wants to play with his buddy, win or lose, Toronto.

If he wants to take on a leadership role and be a "core" player for a long time, and still be close to home, Edmonton.

If he wants to win, and wants to ease into the NHL, Ottawa would be a good choice, but with Karlsson he'll never be a number one there.

I really don't know how New York fits in, with their deep, young defensive core and with out a real connection to the city, but NYR is a "win now" option too.

Take a dart board, divide it into five sections, and throw a dart. Those are equal odds to what experts are saying.

Funny.. Could have sworn that was repeated here by Canucks fans and if it was, I do have a point. But yeh, continue to define the argument so narrowly that you are right. I'm sure no one will notice

This.

He could go to Ottawa or Toronto for all we know. My question is if tor fans argument that he is friends with Gardiner, can't rags fans say the exact thing about McDonaugh or were Gardiner and Schultz butt buddies?

It has been mentioned a lot that the Rangers do not have a second pairing RHD.
With the injury to Michael Sauer, it has created a hole.

The Rangers also do not have a legit PP QB.

I dont think he's going to Edmonton. This is just my opinion..let me explain why.

IMO....they are not getting any better. Before the start of last season, EDM fans on here were going off about how all of their young stars would get better and there was no way they'd be a lottery team again.

fast forward 1 year....they get another 1st over all pick. LOL

They have crap goal tending..and one of the worst set of D in the league. They haven't addressed their obvious weaknesses...

imo...you'd have to be hockey stupid, or have total homervision if you think they'll do any better than last year.

I think Schultz will see this too. Edm management will go "look..we have hall, yakupov, RNH, eberle! we're going to be good!" ...and behind closed doors, Schultz agent will say "look justin..they didnt get any better last year..and they have the same huge weaknesses on D and G., lets go to Vancouver, Detroit, NYR...somewhere that actually wins hockey games."

He and Gardiner are best friends, while, as far as I've heard, he and McDonaugh are just former teammates.
