Jonathan Bernier Has Asked For A Trade (All Bernier discussions)
I think New Jersey will grab him. Bernier will probably get more games behind an aging Brodeur, which would prepare him to take over the starting role in NJ next season. Also, there are probably few goalies who a young goalie would rather play behind than Martin Brodeur. It just makes sense, especially now that Tampa Bay and Columbus have addressed their goaltending issues. I could see Toronto being interested as well, but I still think they will make a play for Luongo (despite the rumors that Luongo only would waive his NTC for Florida) or even look at Schneider (if Florida won't pony up for Luongo).
Of the rumored teams I'd love to see the Kings add to a deal to acquire Kane, but I'm not sure we'd have the pieces or the cap space to add him. Not sure what Toronto could offer for him that'd make sense for the Kings, JVR? If it's NJ, Clarkson would look good in a deal for Bernier. Columbus has Bobrovsky, so unless they deal him in a deal for Bernier, I don't see it happening.
Hope the Leafs make a pitch for Bernier. Definite upgrade over Reimer or Scrivens, however, still unproven as a starter. Not sure the Leafs would have/willing to part with what LA would want.
Jonathan Bernier to Chicago makes a lot of sense. But somehow Bowman extended Emery, so I can't see it happening.
Well if Hawks were interested they could probably find a team to unload Emery on who would be in market for vet #2 (Phi , Car who will be without Boucher for start of year , etc)
Hate to see him go. When we drafted Bernier I finally felt like all the pieces were lineing up (even bought a Bernier Monarchs Jersey).
I hope he has great success no matter where he goes. I would prefer to cheer for him as a Blackhawk and not a Leaf though.
It was rumoured that LA turned down a prospect and a 1st rounder at the deadline for him. Now that they have Quick locked in I imagine that package would look a bit better.

He would get more start behind Brodeur than he will Quick. I think if he goesto the buds they will screw him up like they do most goalie prospects. Don't want to see that with this guy.
I am confused why Florida is rumored to be in on Luongo and Quick. They have a great goalie in Markstrom coming up. I think as far as Luongo is concerned it is just cause that's where he wants to go.

NJ, Toronto, Chicago, with a dark horse being Calgary.

Actually it would be idiotic of the Leafs to trade for another unproven goalie when they already have goaltender with similar upside to Bernier if not better in Reimer
