Per a couple LA reporters

I figured as much because Hockey Insisderr tweeted yesterday that Edmonton was close to acquiring him!

Toronto or Chicago would be good places for him. I know they both want a goalie.

As a fellow Los Angeles Kings fan. If I was Dean Lombardi I keep Bernier from Now till December and would tell Darryl to play him at least 5-7 gms. Cuz then teams could watch him and then figure out if they need a Goalie like Bernier on their team.

Keeping him is very risky as he is one injury away or poor start to year to losing even more value

Also why would Sutter be swayed by the Kings upper management? He is coach and he will decide who plays not the GM

At this moment I can confirm the ‪#Oilers‬ are the front runners to land Bernier but the ‪#LAKings‬ are taking their time. Heating up though.
To be fair this was the quote and it doesnt say there close only they are front runners

That would give oilers good tandem with tremendous upside.

I would argue not keeping him is even riskier at the moment since the Kings would not have a reliable backup.

Whether he loses value or not, the Kings are in win now mode and need a capable backup to at least start the year since they had a short summer.

In terms of trade value, you may be right, but in terms of risk for Wins / Losses (and potential playoff positioning) the Kings need to keep him. If Bernier can squeak out an extra 3 points in the standings over his replacement, the Kings will have been better off keeping him - the West is always a slugfest.

I think its not that risky to have him play that many games to show his worth to others saying he hasnt shown anything to be worth a high price. It would also have a potential to be a bigger market should goalies get hurt or new ones dont live up to what is needed. Sutter is a employee of the kings and if management decides jb needs to play a few game he will be playing a few games. He needs to play to get into some sort of rythm Personally id have him start the majority of preseason games to get him into the groove.

Methinks the Oil and Kings won't be dealing for quite some time.

Really sucks for Bernier if the Kings hold onto him, he's getting in his prime years and a guy of his talent should have a shot at the starter position somewhere. I get why the LAK aren't keen on trading him also, just a poor situation for all involved.

Perfect Oil fans! Trade Hemsky for Bernier. This will put in end to the 3 dozen "Hemsky to ________" threads.

Not really a rumor, he says it himself that he hopes the Kings will try to trade him in the first vid on RDS' front page.

Actually the one guy I want is Teubert. Maybe him plus a second rounder 2013 and one other small piece like their 4th LW?

He wants to be a starter, so peeps saying he'd be great backing someone somewhere else are missing the point. lol

What team could he go to and be a starter right away? Maybe Toronto.

There aren't many teams he would be the automatic starter. He would have to earn it just like all goalies do. I see him splitting games with another guy till one comes out on top.

This is a head-scratcher. Wasn't there some buzz that the Kings would part with Bernier for a a first rounder? That's not much of a price for a carefully groomed goaltender ready to take the reins.

Hawks are not interested. They feel Crawford will bounce back this year.

Burke said he's not interested in Bernier, not by name but he said he didn't want an unproven goalie. He'd rather stick with Reimer/Scrivens.

Jonathan Bernier

He said he expected to be traded before training camp starts.
What do Kings fans expect for him, considering his value has dropped slightly now that teams know that Bernier will be moved as he is not happy being a back-up.

As a Pens fan, I wouldn't mind something around Vokoun so LA get their backup for Quick and than we have a young goalie with so much potential competing with Flower.

Anyway, let me know, Kings fans.
