HAHAAHAHAHAH they shouldn't let just anyone post on here LOL
Not really

He put up ok #'s behind one of the best defensive teams in hockey the last 2 years and hasn't proven to be a #1 at this point

Scrivens is an RFA. He will serve as Quick's capable backup on the cheap for 1-3 years. Let Reimer and Bernier duke it out for top minutes in Toronto. Loser gets traded to Calgary.

Kidding about the loser to Calgary bit

Late pick from Devils

Hawks get young G for #1 role and save a little on cap

Craw serves as #2 for Marty B this upcoming year and moves into #1 role in 2013. Is UFA after 2013 season so if it doesn't work out Devils future in net is either ready or they can hit the market (FA or Trade) to get a #1
As a Devils fan who lives in Chicago and is a STH for the Blackhawks, please don't give us Crawford. I know we give up essentially nothing to get him and his contract isn't THAT bad, but i really want no part of him. A direct trade between the Kings and Hawks makes sense, i'm sure you could dump Crawford off on somebody, just please not us.

James Reimer

71 GP's played
34-24-4
.911 S%
2.83 GAA

Jonathan Bernier

48 GP's played
20-17-5
.910 S%
2.50 GAA

Bernier played behind a superior team in LA while Reimer played during Ron Wilson's run and gun hang the goalie out to dry system.

Remind me again why the Leafs are dropping a lot of value for Bernier?

Then why not roll with Reimer?

I do agree that LAK will ask for a boat loan for their "top prospect"

a team is going to give up varlamov similar value

Overall - i'd trade a lot to get Bernier

but none off the core

Someone or two in this list of players: stalberg, bickell, frolik, hjalmarsson, kruger
Someone or two in this list of prospects: pirri, hayes, beach, clendening, johns, hole,
And probably a 1st round pick or 2nd

so.. stalberg, beach, johns, 2nd?
Yikes, don't want to give up Beach or Johns.

Still like the idea of giving up Morin more. Or Clendening.

Scrivens is no throw in... he's a quality goalie prospect who led the AHL this season and backstopped the Marlies to the Calder Cup Final.

Basically the hawks deal their frist and crwaford for Bernier. ANd the devils get Crawford for a lte pick.
I think New jersey would have to send something back to Chicago.

teams won't give much for Bernier.. still kinda unproven yet.. play behind a great defensive team.. i'm guessing he will be a backup next yr and play more games to prove he's a solid goalie..

I know Crawford has shown flashes of brilliance but he's woefully inconsistent and doesn't really have that much value if you ask me. I don't particularly want him on the Devils to begin with, i certainly wouldn't give up much of value for him. An average prospect or a late round pick at the very most; only if we can't get another goaltender from elsewhere.

He's barely played. He has a great resume. If he makes consistent starts I am sure he will get his form like he has shown in the past. And any GM would know this, so a GM that's desperate for a goalie would overpay. Just matters how much of an overpayment we're talking about.

while i think most agree bernier is a 'better' prospect than Reimer, I dont see why the leafs would give up a tonne to get Bernier. The leafs need veteran goalie depth, not another inexperienced goalie.

DL was rumored to have turned down a 1st round pick and prospect at the deadline for him. So I'm guessing that is the starting point.

A goalie in his 2nd pro season leads the AHL in goaltending.... yup, just a spare part.

I really hope Bernier does not go to the leafs. They will ruin him.

There's a reason everyone called that a poor trade

That was before Quick re-signed and Bernier asked to be moved
