i said maybe.. and you are crazy to think everyone is offering contracts like that. and we can afford it.. just questionable with weber being in the same position next summer.
I think anyobe serious about landing Suter is offering a massively front loaded contract, you must not be in the know.
Please tell me the last time that Nashville signed someone to a $100 million dollar contract...and then signed another player (Weber) to a similar contract.
And you can for sure bet that all of these offers are front-loaded.
horrible rebuttal... so since its never been done before, it can't be? nashville has a new ownership and promises of being a cap team. nashville will do everything possible to get suter.

and that's fine.. preds have the finances if they want to keep suter. i think it comes down more to weber, too. and if suter wants to play his career here. money aside.
Two 13 yr 100 million dollar (heavily front-loaded) deals are WORLDS away from a 7 yr 49 million dollar deal.
It is also not out of the realm of possibility for the Preds. My point was you cannot reasonably count them out just because he will get a larger contract than has been offered to a Preds player in the past.

Being a cap team is a lot different from spending 24 million over 2 years on one player though, plus his actual pay will likely be much higher than his cap hit for a few years after that. Then you add in an even higher contract that Weber is going to get. Just seems like a whole lot to add to Nashville's budget

Fair enough, but one can reasonably assume that Nashville cannot have approximately $250 million tied up in three players.

Actions speak louder than words, my friend. Promises are empty until fulfilled. If Suter re-signs with the Preds - and Weber follows him - for a mega $100 million contract, then I admit I was wrong.

Has any NHL team ever had two 100 million dollar contracts on the books?
They mentioned that both players were together during the Olympics and that they would like to both play together on the same team ?Who knows how that will play out ? LOL
I was asking more, "how does Philadelphia make that work"?
They have very little cap space and some great young talent that is going to need contracts the next 2-5 years.

If we sign Suter and Parise for around 7.1-7.7 million a piece, we would only need to move one salary of about 4 million. Mez has been speculated he would be the one to go. They could make it work.
The owners have stated several times that they will spend what it takes to keep both Weber and Suter. I doubt they would make such statements without consulting Poile on his opinion of what each will cost, and Poile has been around long enough to know how crazy FA can get.
And before anyone brings up the lowball negotiation tool Poile used at arbitration for Weber, it was not an offer. It was where he wanted the low end of what the arbiter considered to start.

Nah I believe they could make it work with both of them and Voracek. It would just be very tight. Also matters what the final deals would be of course. It would just be extremely tight.
