Panthers 2012-13 Schedule Talk

http://www.nhl.com/ice/schedulebyseason.htm?team=fla

Couple of random thoughts...

- We start the season with 9 of 10 against non-playoff teams from a year ago. Have to get off to a quick start.

- As always, we start off road heavy (11 road games out of the first 17 games).

- Thanksgiving home stand again (NYR, DET, TB).

- By mid-December we'll have already visited Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Anaheim, LA, and Phoenix. Getting the long distance road trips done early I suppose.

- Another New Year's Eve game, but against the Rangers. Montreal is here a few days earlier.

- After a five game trip in early January, we play 17 of 23 at home (capped by a 7 game home stand in Feb/March).

- Our double West opponents are LA, Nashville, and Colorado.

- Back-to-backs (1 in Oct, 2 in Nov, 3 in Dec, 1 in Jan, 3 in Feb, 2 in March, 1 in April, 13 overall [not bad]).

I'll toss in some more thoughts later.

Love the doubleheaders against those three teams.

Kings - defending champs
Preds - pretty close to Florida, and a team I like.
Avalanche - 96, do I need to say more?

But let's see when the season will kick-off.

Not sure why home openers over the past 5 seasons or so are usually against the Lightning, but nevertheless, I'll make sure to drive down for Opening Night! I'll also look into taking the hour and a half trek to Tampa for the game on October 19th.

Exactly!!!! When I saw that I was like WTF, the Lightning again? Im really sick of making my annual trip down there to see the Lightning for the home opener. At least the Cats are 4-1 when I make the trip, with 3 of those being shutouts

I know I plan to head down for opening night and see that glorious banner raised. It'll be that much more enjoyable to do so in front of the Lightning

We always have a decent schedule. I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop and we have a 10 game road trip in the middle of the season or something.

I'm disappointed they only play one game at home to start the season and then head out onto the road. I was hoping to travel down for the home opener, but it's too expensive to just come down for one game.

I'll have to try and pick another homestand!

Not a great schedule, there's a few tough road back to back games.

Hey Toronto Panther fans, let's get together on January 10th and go to the game! Try and get some tickets together in a group and make our presence felt!

Who's with me??!?
