Good time for the hockey futures writer to do his ranking. Now that the prosoects seasons have started he gets a little better snap shot. Certainly Jaskin will jump up the ranking with his hot start.

I apologize that it hasn't been posted sooner. I've had internet problems and its made it difficult to even stay in contact with my editor.

That said I have the rankings complete and I hope to get out to my friends house to use his computer so I can get it posted this week.

It's my pleasure PB. I'm gonna try to start doing a weekly progress/stats report of our prospects soon as well. That way we can better track who's hot and who's not. Also, just checked on our ECHL prospects and Tyler Shattock and Brett Sonne are not surprisingly playing very well. Sonne is 3+3 in 3 games, and Shattock is 3+2. Paul Karpowich and Cody Beach, however, apparently are struggling a bit. Beach has a team worst -6, 0 pts and 15 PIM in the 3 GP...while Karpowich has had 2 starts a .865 sv% and 4.89 GAA.

Anthony Nigro has been sent to the Evansville Icemen of the ECHL while Tyler Shattock was recalled to the Peoria Rivermen.

I'll be in Peoria this Saturday covering the game for HF so if there is any particular player you'd like me to watch or potentially question, shoot me a PM and I'll do what I can.

RR, all is good. I'd like your impressions of Ponich and Peluso. Thanks

Could you also keep an eye on Wannstrom and Andronov for us? Curious how Schwartz's defensive game is coming along as well.

An assist for Veilleux and another goal for Jaškin in a 5-2 Moncton win tonight.

Petteri Lindbohm has been really solid in his last few games. He's quite mobile for such a big guy and strong in front of the net. He has close to none offensive upside but can definitely give a good first pass. He's been playing with ex-NHLer and team captain Ossi Väänänen who is a very similar player(probably best in the league in that role) so he has a chance to learn a lot from him. Tonight Väänänen is out and Lindbohm is paired with some kid called Erik Karlsson.

Also...It says on the ticker that the Blues have named Sergei Zubov as a consultant for hockey operations.

He'll be dealing with our prospects in Europe.

Thought I'd let you guys know that Tremblay stole a point for Val d'Or last night against a very good Rimouski team. He was simply fantastic.

I saw the scoresheet for that game... Tremblay has a 2.74 GAA and a 91.0% save percentage in his last five appearances, but only a 1-2-2 record.

Between Tremblay, Jordan Binnington and Niklas Lundstrom, the goaltending future of the Blues' organization looks to be in pretty decent shape.

Looks like Max Gardiner scored for Penn State, but little other points put up on the college front.

Really liking Nick Walters too. Check out Walters vs Walchuk. He destroyed one of their forwards that had his head down and then pounded the guy who challenged him. Reminds of a bigger version of Jackman, when he was younger. Seems to have quite the mean streak.

Bill Armstrong had some good things to say about Walters after the draft. He mentioned that he had more fights than any other draft eligible defensemen and that his style reminded him of Roman Polak. He also said he doesn't really see him as a pure fighter per say but more of an aggressive defender who does a good job of sticking up for his teammates. Definitely an interesting prospect.

Jordan Binnington put on another impressive performance tonight stopping 34 of 35 shots in a 3-1 victory for OwenSound. He's now the top goalie in the OHL with a .939 SV % and 1.96GAA. Jaskin also increased his point streak tonight to four games with an assist, and Veilleux also added a goal.

Walters has a mean streak, saw him on a You Tube clip take a cheap shot on Beach and then pound him.

I'm just wondering about prospect Evgeny Grachev and how he fits into the Blues' long term plans.
He seemed to be a solid all around player but didn't fit into the Rangers organization before he was moved to St. Louis.
It seems, again, like he won't get a shot with some solid players ahead of him on the depth chart.

Will he head back to Russia to play in the KHL? Or, will he eventually be regular Blues forward?

Thanks for your input!

I can't tell you what his intentions are after this year, but Grachev is rather puzzling. He seems to have everything: good size, good speed, good hands, good shot etc. but it doesn't seem to translate into scoring. Even in the AHL he hasn't really set the world on fire, and that's a league where I think he should really thrive. I don't know what's going to happen with him.

I will have a Rivermen recap on BNZ followed by a scouting report.

I watched McRae, Andronov, Cole, Peluso and Schwartz mostly.
