Binnington got little help today, had stopped close to 30 shots as they had a 1-0 lead going into the third, but gave up 3 in the third in a 4-1 loss.

Rattie had a third period hat-trick in the Winterhawks 7-2 win.

just looking at the stats in the most recent season for the blues prospects and heres what stood out to me
Rattie scoring 11 fewer points in 7 fewer games while doubling his plus minus (from +23 to +56)
Jaskin scoring at almost 2 ppg in the qmjhl
Francios Tremblay improved in every statistical category for the 3rd straight year.
binnigtons huge season of course

Undeniable that this all looks very good for the Blues on paper. But the best part of that is that if you've watched them play a decent amount, you come to the same conclusion.

Remember how we talked about Joel Edmundson having 2 goals, 3 assists in the first two games of the playoffs? Well, he had 3 assists in the clinching game of the first round series, and he has an assist tonight for a grand playoff total of 2 goals and 3 assists, per the WHL website. No idea what's going on there.

Because the guy from the World of Warcraft episode of Southpark hasn't updated the site yet?

Bill Armstrong is super. I really don't miss Jarmo even slightly.

That's not it. They update the site in real time during games for everyone else. I actually think he had 3-4 assists taken away in the span of eight games.

Love to hear the story behind that when it emerges.

Still probably too early, but I actually agree with you.

Agreement noted, but I don't think it's too early. The 2nd round from 2011 is nails(Jaskin,Rattie,Edmundson) which is more than Jarmo accomplished. I love Jarmo as much as the next Blues fan for his money 1st round forward picks, but the Blues still have Bill Armstrong and Mike Antonovich who handed him Perron(Armstrong), Backes, Oshie and Schwartz(Antonovich) on a silver platter. Forward picks will be shrewd with or without Jarmo, hence I don't miss him even slightly.

Armstrong was reported to be the guy who brought us Jake Allen as well, so it's nice to see he has an eye for tenders.

I was just trying not to jinx him for future drafts .

Armstrong has been amazing for the Blues and I feel like the 2011 draft has the ability to be a home run draft. 2012 seems like it has potential as well. Jarmo had problems hitting in the 2nd round, so if Jaskin, Rattie, and Edmundson all become NHL players, you definitely have to give the edge to Armstrong.

In fairness, that 2011 draft was loaded down til about pick 50, and all three of the guys the Blues took in the second round might've been first rounders in other years. Picks 20-50 were fairly interchangeable.

I know binnigton was drafted very young, one of the youngest players in the 2011 draft. does he have another year of junior eligibility?

Yeah I think we're doing great drafting without Jarmo.

Also sounds like Jaskin may be coming straight to St. Louis now...

I agree that our scouting doesn't really miss Jarmo too much, but I would still love to have him back in our organization in some capacity. Guy was a beauty.

And, despite being a half-European, I like that Armstrong tends to go heavier on North American players, and lighter on Europeans than Jarmo did. That lowers the risk of getting nothing out of players who never want to come across the ocean, or those who don't want to spend more than a few weeks in The AHL before deciding to chuck the chance to play in The NHL to go back home.

Binnington with another strong performance today, stopping 36 of 37 shots in a 3-1 win.

Binnington looks very promising...I always thought he would be good. You never really know with goalies.

I still think Lundström is our best goalie prospect, but it is undoubtedly very close. As you say, goalies development is very difficult to predict, our strength in the position at least gives us a good chance of one panning out.

Yannick Veilleux scored his second goal tonight as well in the AHL. Good start for him there, despite 2 losses.

Dmitrij Jaskin will make it into Nashville tonight. But unless numbers are to where #stlblues have to play him, he won't play tomorrow. @ lkorac10

Jaskin is bypassing the AHL from juniors and could be in the lineup sooner than we think.

Rattie and Portland are up 3-0 on Spokane in the series and halfway through Game 4. Rattie collected his 11th goal in his 10th playoff game. The guy is nothing if not consistent at that level.

Edmundson and Kamloops up 3-0 in the series, up 1-0 halfway through Game 4. Kamloops will play Portland in the next round.

Binnington was staked to a 4-0 lead in Game 4 in his second round series, and Owen Sound held on 4-3 to even the series at 2-2.

Edmundson got the primary assist on the game and series winner in OT, will play Rattie and Portland next.

Should add it'll be a battle between the two. Edmundson is the top LD facing the top RW in Rattie.
