But none of them are ready to step in this season. Certainly no harm in bringing someone in on a 1 or 2 year deal to beef up that position.

*cough*Granlund*cough* Of course he'll probably play wing. But what UFA center is going to look for a 1 year deal here when there appears to be the position already taken?

I realize that Granlund "can" play that position...but like you said, not likely this season.

As far as who would take a 1 year deal? No idea....although Jokinen might be interested in a 2 year deal for the right money.

I'm not even sure that Fletcher is looking to upgrade that position...but if he is, there are always trade options out there.

Chris Campoli will become UFA on July 1st.

The Wild better not sign him. He's simply awful.

Nicholas A Marini‏@NWOpghpenguins

Darren Dreger on the fan says front runners for both parise and Suter are the Minnesota wild

https://twitter.com/NWOpghpenguins/s...30137796460545

Obviously not a reliable source as it just looks like a Penguins fan just listening to the radio, but I'm starved for news and, in true Minnesota form, I enjoy getting my hopes up to get shot down in the end.

what is the fan and do they have linked recordings of their interviews? man, i feel like people at this point are just using us to keep their fanbases from prematurely celebrating.

Darren Dreger is a reliable source, but if I don't hear it come from him, I'm not believing it.

Found a radio station for Pittsburgh called the fan, listening to some of their podcasts.

10:45 mark of the interview, Dreger has a gut feeling that we are going to make a splash, but nothing about us being a front-runner. He actually states he wouldn't necessarily call us a front runner. However, that is from their morning show; the tweet I referenced was from a show later in the day.

I don't want cancer.... We could start Grandlund at center. And add a FA winger.

yeah, thanks...also looked it up and just listened. not front runner. but definite splashers. i wonder if he means just having our name mentioned as finalists is surprising enough to be comment-worthy.
and if we're not front-runners for those guys, how do we make a splash? Trade? A Splash is a trade of the Burns magnitude, not swapping clutterbuck for someones second pairing d.

He doesn't say anything objectively. Just a 'feeling' we are going to make a splash. Nothing definite.

still if we're hanging on to hope Dreger's opinion and "feelings" are a lot more sturdy an edge to grip than most of what we've seen.

How would you know he's a cancer?

It's like the Heatley case.
