If it's as the 4th line center, what's to hate about that idea? McClement can be a damn good 4th line center, and we have no guy that fits that spot.
McClement as the 4th line center does not bother me. What bothers me is that if that happens it means that Koivu and Bonino will be 2-3 again, and yes that bothers me greatly. I'm sick of murray ignoring that weakness.

Doesn't mean Koivu and Bonino would be 2-3 IMO, we could still go out and get a number 2 center, and bump Koivu to number 3.
Would it suck for Bonino? Yeah, but I don't think Bonino being on the roster would stop us from going after a #2 center.
I disagre entirely. Boudreau and Murray praised Bonino at seasons end. No way he's bumped down. How about this; we obtain the 2nd line center, then sign McClement? Id love that

So basically, what your saying is, the exact same thing?

I don't think he's ignoring that weakness. It's not an easy weakness to address, either via trade or via signings. There are many teams out there without even a number one center, so those tend to be all out on the guys that make it to the market in some shape. It's just not as easy as wanting to get something done very badly. Burke has wanted a top center more than about anyone wants anything in the league, for example, and even he with his well-known pro-active approach hasn't been able to come close to making something happen. It sucks, and it's not making it any less uncomfortable, but it's just very difficult to do.
Moen just re-signed with the Habs. $1.8M/4y deal. 4 year deal is a bit long for a grinder (albeit a good one) but I hope he does well.
Which reminds me... Carter re-signed with the Devils earlier, Pahlsson went back to Sweden, Penner likely re-signing with the Kings and it seems like O'Donnell is ready to hang 'em up. It's so weird, I feel like it was just yesterday when I watched these guys skate with a Ducks jersey on. Sign Andrew Ebbett for AHL depth just for nostalgia's sake?
(I thought about resurrecting that old "ex-Ducks" thread, but got lazy and instead thought I'd just post this in here.)
I believe it's much easier to obtain a 2nd line center then a 1st line center. I firmly believe that Murray is completely content with going with Koivu as 2nd line center. Riberio went for cheap, we easily could have given more then that IMO. I'd like to see him at least trade for Jokinen's rights or something. I believe that he thinks if he upgrades the 4th line center, then that will be good, and IMO that's unacceptable.

Well, obviously. But the teams that lack a 1st line center tend to not have multiple good 2nd line centers, especially as the borders between the two tend to be very fluent. So a team without a number one will on average go for a 2nd line center with (rightfully) more desperation than a team with a number one center.

Well, your firm belief is fine, but I really don't see much of an indication for that in reality. There's a lot of teams that are looking for the same type of guy, and by far most have not been able to address it. I firmly disagree with your belief.

We don't know whether Nieuwendyk was willing to trade him within the division. We also don't know how he valued Eakins, and who would have to be the guy coming from the Ducks. Who knows. But I admit that I was surprised to see Ribeiro not go for more than that.

I really don't think that would do much. We're going to be in on him, regardless, and he'll know all factors in favour of Anaheim when it matters. Also, once again, some teams just don't trade negotiation rights for their players. The most you want to give up is a late-rounder, 5th to 7th, and some teams would just not give another team that audition with a player for a late pick. In Jokinen's case, I really don't see a trade for his rights making a difference.
Maybe it would be a good thing to happen, though, just so that fans get to see an explicit sign of Murray attempting to do something, while the actual important work will once again be done behind closed curtains. I wouldn't be angry, but I don't see it being a sensible investment in this case.
How long do the Murray defenders get to say "its only day 1; its only week 1; still X weeks until training camp" before we get to say "i told you so" for the 3rd year in a row?
Edit: Trust me, im hoping you get to tell me "i told you so" this year.
I really thought he was a goner when that first tweet started going around... then I realized Randy Miller was a complete tool for phrasing it the way he did. Ryan doesn't want out and Murray will fix this situation. He'll be a Duck until his contract ends in my opinion.

If Jokinen is available at the right price tomorrow, I can't find many reasons not to sign him. Should set us up with three proper scoring lines if Teemu keeps his form and our prospects (mainly Palmieri) pan out the right way.
I think Latendresse is either staying in Minesotta or going to Montreal. About Colaiacovo, I think 3rd pairing spot is likely reserved for Vatanen (and Lydman).
Also Garrison is not a puckmover. He would be a good fit though.
