If I'm the Isles I'm already talking to Streit about a 2-3 year extension. I wouldn't think about trading him.

Every single trade idea from their fans will be centered around Sam Gagner.

Snow is not going to move Streit. The two big things this team needs is defense, and veteran leadership.

No way. This is not worth the time.

Vis was added to boost the D. Trading Streit would weaken it again.
I think its a safe bet to assume Snow is looking to make a reasonable run at a playoff spot this season. My guess is he will still add a nother vet on the blueline, and likely another forward...

My hope is that it will be players who are under 35 who still have something left.

Even if we signed Suter (which we probably wont) I wouldnt deal Streit. We'd just have one of the best D groups in the league. Unless they were parting with Hall, RHN, Eberle or Nail..which they wont.

Just because he wants him doesn't mean he can have him.

Staples tweeted yesterday that the isles won't be trading Streit to Edmonton.

What a Larry Brooks like suggestion:a trade that makes zero sense for the other team.

Isles and Oilers are both desperate to make the playoffs, both have weak defenses,so the isles should trade Streit to Edmonton

Arthur Staple‏@StapeNewsday
#isles‬ are out of the Justin Schultz sweepstakes. Also zero truth to rumors of Mark Streit going to EDM in a trade.

Gotta love Matheson's suggestion:the isles send Streit to Edmonton because Gagner and Tavares are friends.

When did Tavares morph into a 13 yr old girl, needing to be surrounded by her bffs?

Yeah, let's give up on the 19 year old who never should have been on the team this year

This time of year breeds some truly awful threads where every little bit of conjecture and speculation is blown up into "PROPOSAL" or "SPECULATION". (I fall victim to them EVERY TIME by the way and just have to read them.)

This line made me laugh. Thank you for brightening my day.

Krueger wants Streit? Cool. He can try to get him next year if he isn't signed to an extension by then.

Good for Krueger...unfortunately what Krueger wants means nothing to me or the Isles.

I want Ovechkin, Crosby, Giroux, Malkin, Chara, Weber, and Datsyuk.

Yes,a wild overpayment can land any player.

Snow said on draft weekend, that he wanted to add 2-3 veterans to the defense.

The Edmonton press is tossing out names like Gagner(45-47 pts) for Streit.
Oiler fans are tossing out names like Potter,Gagner, picks and prospects.

Snow offering by up his entire draft for nhl ready Murray, shows he's not interested in stockpiling more prospects. He's been doing that since the 2008 draft.

Snow says he shopped for a quality, top 4 defenseman after losing out on Erhoff in June 2011.He and the press reported at different times during the season,Snow was trying to acquire this top 4 d-man.He finally landed him in June 2012(Vis).Vis has publicly speculated about retiring or playing in Europe next season.

Isles don't have a big budget and aren't an attractive destination for ufas.We saw in the Wideman signing, how ridiculous the ufa market is gonna be:5 yrs/$26m and a NTC.

Snow's team has missed the playoffs since 2007.Good luck explaining to guys like Tavares and Vis,why Streit was dealt for 2 draft picks.

Matheson's friend comment,to explain why Snow would make such a move, reminded me of Larry Brooks, shilling for lopsided Ranger trades.

I highly Doubt that snow offered his entire draft. This rumor IMO has no true wheels
