Still don't understand why non-Ducks fans have gotten so butt-hurt over a clear cut option in the CBA.

To be honest, I'd be (and am) pretty disappointed by his decision. Seriously, look at Edmonton. They were a dynasty once, blessed with the GOAT and now they're a ****ing disgrace and are rewarded for sucking every year. They didn't deserve Yakupov and they certainly don't deserve another top prospect in addition. It's not right.

Oh well, I'll be laughing my ass off when he gets boarded by whoever on Ducks feels like it.

Yes but the Oilers wont have McTavish behind the bench looking like this:

Well, darn.

Oh well, I'm sure Kassian and Veilleux will fix his wagon at some point

Please show me in any of my posts, where I wish ill-will, or injury upon this guy?

NOWHERE

.... I'm just saying that I hate me-first, prima-donna players. Always have. Hated playing on a team with them, and hating watching them. With all of these young propects coming up for the Wild, it would suck to have some kid come in with his "I'm calling the shots even though I haven't done anything yet" attitude. I don't want to see that could rub off on the other rookies. Hockey is a TEAM sport.

He'll be the most scrutinized rookie next season after this.

Well, Yak and Granlund still don't care. They are the Calder favorites.

Clutterbuck will make him feel welcome. Or maybe even Bulmer.

Am I the only one who would have had the opposite reaction from the Gretzky call? "Hey kid, go play in the place you will never have any hope of becoming a legend in because of me." That doesn't sound like much of a pitch. Neither does "we're so desperate, we got this guy who hasn't played for us since two years before you were born to give you a call."

I guess to me it would be difficult to take many negatives out of a phone call from Gretzky. I'd pretty much agree to anything he says out of the sheer blindness of admiration.

They paid him first round money.

Personally, when I heard Minnesota got Corbett, I was happy. Kid has a bit of a growing up to do but he has the potential to be a top 5 defenseman and that's what we need. And we got him for free.

Dumba
Draeger
Seeler
Corbett
Lorenz
Medvec

That isn't bad...

Because he said he would love to play for the team that drafted him. It's a pretty unprofessional move to make a sing and dance the way that Schultz has done and not let the Ducks get something for him.

BTW; something tells me Edmonton is going to be hurting for cap space in a few years.

They have Peckham and Petry and Dubnyk this year to sign.

Next year they have Hall, Paavjari, and Eberle to sign plus Whitney and Smid will be UFA.

That's going to take up a good chunk of their salary. Dropping 3 million on an unknown rookie is a lot.

We don't have Corbett. Attending our prospect camp does not mean he's signed with the Wild.

He exercised his CBA negotiated right. An option specifically placed in the CBA for players in his exact position, this is not a loop hole. I have no problem with players using their negotiated CBA rights.

If this was a loop hole, that may be a different issue, but it's not.
