i kind of like the fact that out of all the Schultz talk on the main speculation thread everyone else is convinced he'll sign with their team while we're mostly convinced he won't sign here. I hope he values humility!

Per Darren Dreger:

Quote:
Wayne Gretzky confirms he called Justin Schultz as part of the Oilers push to sign the young d-man.Paul Coffey also part of the Edmtn pitch.
I'm sure Minnesota also brought in their most famous alumni...you know the one...for their pitch.

Fans of the Canucks, Oilers, and Leafs have all said they would like for Schultz to come to Minnesota if he doesn't choose their respective teams.

They shall come to regre that! Although it is fun being in there and reading the constant bickering between the Canadian teams.

Or we conference call all 3. Them and Fletch can later go out and get matching Wild tats.

Fletcher i'm guessing was the last to present, hopefully it was a lasting impression. Tough to beat Gretzky and Coffey though, man Oilers pulling out all the stops on this.

If Fletcher pulls this out of his magic hat, I'm mailing his wife saying she better put out for at least 2 weeks straight.

Meh. If it were me, I would want something simple and to the point. And easy and clear message from 1 person, you're not trying to hard but you're obviously willing to take the time to "interview" the person. It's always the simplest message that gets remembered.

Fletcher isn't one for flowery speech or flattery. reference his draft speeches.

I have a feeling thats how his presentation went.

"Schultz, we're here because we want you. We don't have much to offer. Please help."

Well, Eaves described Schultz as being like Suter, quiet, and most comfortable on the ice. Maybe he has the same mentality and might be a little put off by too much attention? I know the thing has turned into a circus, but that could have been his rep's idea. Get it over with quickly.
