No thanks. We need someone younger and on the professional upswing.

I'd be fine with Bernier.

Brodeur & Bernier would be perfect for us. There is not a single option out there that would be better.

Brodeur is done. We don't need him.

Done like a 40+ year old goaltender whose regular season stats weren't much better than the two goalies we already have and who is going to ask for more money than he's worth and more years than he should get.

If we sign him, every time he lets in a goal we can chant "Maaarrrrrtyyyy, Maaarrrrrtyyyy, Maaarrrrrtyyyy..."

Well, at least according to Twitter, the Hawks are one of the several teams that have "reached out" to Brodeur.

As to if that means a serious offer or just kicking the tires, no clue.

Again, if the price is right - and more importantly the term - I'd have no problem giving Brodeur a shot.

Bowman hasn't had much luck trying to make do with over the hill retreads. I think this would be the case again. You'd think he'd learn.

Still on the fence on this one. Getting Marty might help CC more than anything but then we have 8+ mil tied up in goalies again...

If I'm spending $4.5-$5 mil for 2 years or more on a player I'd rather it be Doan than Brodeur

Bowman seems to have a policy whereby he doesn't sign an aging free agent for more than one year (Turco, O'Donnell, Pisani, Brunette, Mayers). At least I hope thats his policy.

Chicago, where NHL players come to retire.

Our annual NHL retiring rate is above 20% over the past two years.

If you really don't see a difference between Fernando Pisani and Martin Brodeur then you've got your Bowman blinders blinged out to an absurd degree.

no downside in signing Brodeur to a 1 year contract. Bowman has to do something with goaltending and if we sign him, he did something and he upgraded the position. You don't make it to the finals with luck only. He was good/great during the POs - that's what the Hawks need. We will make the POs with the core we have, we need to find a way to win in the POs. Brodeur would be a goalie that could win us some games - or at least won't lose us the games like Craw did

Don't want the cap hit or term on his new deal. Good for him, but that would not be a good signing for us right now.
