Sure, but I like the idea of one of our tough customers being around longer. Mercs are fine for a while, but I'd rather a guy who stays around for a while and gets emotionally invested in the team. Unless Berg thinks the cap is going to come way down, I don't really mind giving Prust a similar contract to Moen. Prust would also take a lot of PK time.

I would have really loved asham a few years back. We should have never traded him.

Get Asham for 800,000

Get John Erskine for bottom pair 7th /8 D man
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2cLwiGHkZI

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygNhx7j_fuU

Then sign BGL to a deal on a 2 way like Cam Janssen, for Noky money .

Should be good start for toughness, the biggest goons that concern Montreal are in Boston .

Bring on the Bruins.

You've got to be kidding. You were bashing the Nokes signing all night yesterday and now you want to bring back Laraque? Nokes might not be a very good hockey player but he's still a million times better than Laraque.

just out curiosity, why do you think we should sign BGL?

just by the way, we just finished buying out his last contract because of how inefficient a player he was (aside from fighting). also, he has been sitting on his couch and been trying to become a politician for 3 years now. so what makes feel he would do better?

seriously: i'm very curious to hear your rational.

hey, it's a 2 WAY DEAL like Cam Janssen in NJ.

BOSTON .....Big George plays all BOSTON games.

Lucic can't run forever,he though he was in the clear when BGL got rail roaded by MARTIN, i want BGL back just for that .

the last time BGL had a chance to punch lucic, BGL asked him to fight, lucic said no, BGL skated around and nothing hapenned. He never jumped him. I remember: I was at the game.

That was the game after Lucic destroyed Komisarek. What makes you think BGL changed?

i just realized this: you want us to sign BGL for hundreds of thousands of $ just so that you can watch 1 hypothetical fight with lucic... a fight that will likely never happen because BGL wasn't an NHL player 3 years ago???

Lucic would absolutely demolish BGL. Not even close. He can't skate anymore, let alone fight.

Ugh, I don't want Parenteau. He'll be another Bourque on this team. He has disaster written all over him...

he can't skate no more? He probably can skate better now, than before. He took figure skating lessons .

He is 35 , he didn't forget how to fight.

The man took a hit to his pride, he wants to come back to go out on top ,listen to what he says.

Laraque is going to be even slower than before. Lucic is going to skate circles and score goals. If, and thats a huge if, Lucic drops them he will likely pound old BGL to oblivion. It wouldn't happen however because the Bruins would want Lucic on the ice instead of the penalty box and they definitely want the Habs to ice the NHL's slowest player. Matching up Laraque vs Lucic means we have him facing guys like Horton, Krejci, Bergeron, Seguin, ect.

He hasn't played serious hockey in years and we are not talking about Guy Lafleur here. Laraque can't and won't ever come back to the NHL. Luckily Bergevin has already stated he has no interest in BGL.

Habaneros also is the one who liked Scott Gomez as a part of the team, so...

EDIT: And I'm sorry but you're just ridiculous if you think ANYBODY is afraid of him anymore. Why the f would Bergevin sign him if Staubitz wasn't good enough?

Which is pretty funny since Nokelainen, whom he hates with fiery passion, is likely a better player than Gomez at this point.

Tons of player who can't play under a coach......Hall Gill told you all you need to know ..
You bring in Scott Gomez into a FULL LINE UP OF SMURFS,and give him Poulliot as a line mate and Darche...great.....depression will set in ...yes.

Wanye Gretzky in Montreal with Martins line up, would be in big trouble.

Reap what you sow.

Well I suppose if I ever become depressed about the state of the team I could always thank god someone with Habanero's opinions isn't in charge.

Unless, of course, you're going for MacKinnon. Then absolutely agreed.

Imagine Desharnais with the 1980s Oilers. Would he be a 300pts scorer?

And you're aware of the fact that this is 2012? And that was a completely unsuccessful team?
