This team is not re-signing Gaborik. That's 7.5 mil right there to help re-sign the others.

Nash is a career underachiever and is by far the most overrated player in the NHL. The Rangers are taking a big risk (7.8M worth) in efforts that he'll someday breakout.
do u really think Nash is either past his prime or declining at 28..?

If they do resign him I can see him taking less than 7.5m

Dude if they ALL hit their potential, with or without Nash we wouldn't be able to afford them all anyway

I could see him taking less to stay unless we win a cup

I think he is somewhere between disinterested and disgusted in Columbus. A change of scenery should revitalize him.

maybe he's living up to his reputation as a self-centered ******* by contacting each team individually to give them the courtesy of let them know his decision instead of letting them find out on twitter

This whole Schultz crap is ridiculous.

He's not Ray Bourque.

Horrible CBA flaw. He should have to stay with the Ducks instead of dictating where he wants to play before even stepping on NHL ice.

I agree that the loophole is ridiculous & needs to be fixed on the new CBA.

But, Schultz is smart to put himself in the best position for the future though. He'd be dumb not to actually.

Can't imagine what this delay is for, unless his decision really is coming down to the wire.

Uh, no. It's not a flaw at all. It's existed for a LOOONG time and hardly anyone ever uses it. It needs to stay.

However, the Ducks should get a compensatory pick in the next round. That should be re-written somehow. I would give compensatory picks for the first three rounds if guys don't sign.

Turning down a call with Scott Niedermeyer? I want the kid to chose us....but that shows he thinks he's bigger than he is. I know he didn't want to talk to the Ducks...but still. It's Scott Niedermeyer. At least be respectful.

Edmonton Oilers are liking their chances to land Justin Schultz. "The Decision" should come down soon. #babyoil

Unless they are waiting on it to get later on the west coast.
