Hrm, I don't know how I feel about this. If it stops us from signing another winger (ie. Jagr, Huselius, Mueller, Latendresse), I can't say I'm too happy with it.

It's more the type of signing I'd be happy with in August if we hadn't managed to sign anyone else. But to sign him now, prior to FA opening, feels like a missed opportunity to change the makeup of the team.

If it stops us from signing Jagr, it's worth it.

All the Stajan haters need to wake up. You play him with good players he produces just fine.

To be honest I was thinking "why?!" at first but none of those names would really be a great move for the Flames either (Mueller is an intriguing risk, but a big risk nonetheless). Stemps gives us another "tweener" winger but at least we know what we're getting. The other names all bring their own kinds of headaches (and I liked when Juice was here the first time but I never want to see him here again).

I like it a lot better than the Sarich re-signing anyway.

Agreed. I was definitely on the ant-Stajan bandwagon until he got moved up to the first and second line due to injuries. Put him with some better players instead of some pluggers and he'll produce.
