Good God, complaints about the boredom of my job aside, I at least have to give the office credit for having great air conditioning....

My buddy set up for an interview with this company that is doing this temp to hire program. Need 4 people for this 90 day assignment. He said his company, this IT recruiter, sent over 5 people so all but 1 would get it. Went this afternoon, thought it went really well. Found out 10 minutes ago that they really liked everyone and I was the odd man out.

Basically said I didn't get it because the other 4 were one of either female, black, or an ivy leaguer. So...sucks to be an average white dude, I guess.

Apparently thousands of computer's internet connections are supposed to fail in the next few days due to the actions of some hackers. Check dcwg.org for information (DNS Changer Working Group) - the site allows you to run a quick check on your computer to make sure you're safe (the odds are that you're fine, but given the alternative it's obviously worth just making sure). If your computer is infected, there are steps to remove the problem.

Direct link to the test itself (English): http://www.dns-ok.us/
And don't worry Bubba, I didn't forget you (German): http://www.dns-ok.de/

And yes I do realize this sounds like a scam, but it's been all over the news and dcwg has been a legitimate website for a long time before anyway. I'd imagine some of you have already heard about this virus or whatever it is.

Ahaha, people still believe those mass catastrophe conspiracies, too (December 21st)... they never learn.

Btw, WBBM Radio said it was 105 out today. CSN said 108. ESPN said 110.

The chance of rain today on Weather Underground would jump from 0% when it wasn't raining to 20% when it actually was raining outside at the moment.

How does that really work? I think when it's 100% that means a large predetermined geographical area is guaranteed rain, whereas 20% might mean an overall chance of 20% because many areas still won't get any rain while other towns might.

So, this is an odd one. Been having very prolonged and active text conversations the past couple days with my old crush, who I dated very briefly and was hung up on for a long while (and who I'm apparently hanging out with tonight), and my new crush, who I'm literally planning on asking out this Monday if I see her as planned.

Feels weird, man.... especially as I've always been godawful at reading initial signs of interest, haha. it's funny because it's true

To get even more off-topic from my previous off-topic post.... there are two attorneys in our office for a meeting today that need to get imprisoned right now for their choice of horrible ring tones.

One has the squealing "weeeeee!" pig from that annoying Geico commercial.

The other has the even more atrocious "circus, afro, polka dot" abomination from the Madagascar 3 trailers.

And they're getting phone calls every five minutes....

What have I done to deserve this?
