From what I understand, the percentage represents the rough estimate of times that it has rained in the past when conditions that are predicted are present.

So 20% chance of rain means that 20% of the time it rained in the past when the humidity = X, temperature = X, pressure = X and so forth. I'm by no means a meteorologist so I'm not guaranteeing anything, but that's how I understand it. It's also a little unclear to me about exactly what conditions are being measured.

So with a 10% chance of rain, it could very well still rain. History just shows that it most likely won't.

Watched Goon last night. What an awful awful movie. Would have turned it off if I didn't love hockey, zero flow at all.

Heh, that sucks. My moms office lost power earlier this week, and with the generater they could turn enough on for people to work, but not the AC.

Not sure, I'm wondering if there were blackouts at the time. I do remember than summer is when my folks finished building a new house, and when we moved the AC unit for the central air was on back order. I spent hours playing super mario while sweating and having about 3 fans pointed at me.

This heat has taken its toll on me. I worked the 4th of July (hot), yesterday from 7:30 AM to 2 PM (112-degree heat index), and today from 11 AM to 6 PM (116-degree heat index). However, I'm making bank so I can have plenty of gas I don't have to mooch off my parents for to go to prospect camp next week.

"Heat index". More like "I'm gonna drop dead on my ass index."

You all should just be glad you didn't umpire 7 games today in this heat. And 5 tomorrow...

Anyone ever been to Hopleaf? Huge beer list, and food looks great. Definitely going next time I'm in town.

It sounds like a non-hipster version of that bar on Western and Fullerton... And I can't think of the name of it... Quenchers maybe?

Not in those numbers but it has definitely contributed to a couple of deaths that I know of first hand and has put many others in the hospital in really bad shape. The worst one I can remember (very vaguely because I was little) was in 88 or 89. People were dropping like flies that summer.
